Round 1 Thoughts

A lot of unnecessary mistakes that just continue to hamper us, all self inflicted, very frustrating to watch. We seem to make silly decisions at the exact wrong time.

shame, as i think we have a good squad this year, but a few duds in important positions that dictate our play - Brooks and Mbye, without a doubt fill that category.

I thought Harry Potter was fictional but Mbye seems to have got his hands on Harry's invisibility cloak.

Garner single handedly let in multiple tries with terrible tackling.

Kepoa is trash, been saying it since last year.

Laurie was overhyped. In the Manly trial he made a bunch of technical errors which everyone overlooked.

Liddle's service and options were bad.

Overall the whole team looked flat with no energy, no one running onto the ball and we forced way too many offloads

Some good individual performances some bad. At least the guys who performed well are mostly the ones who are signed longer term and most of the guys with average performances are off contract.

As it is round 1 I'll give them all a free week, but geez there were some dumb calls today.

On the plus side though, how good is Laurie!

Roberts tried hard and was one of the few with a bit of spark.
Tamou was strong when on the field and we fell away once he left the field.
We’re going to struggle to win without a hooker or halves.

The 10 minutes after HT dictated the result. We were very poor in that period and never looked like recovering.Garner and BJ should both be in the maggies after today and stay there until they show discipline at all times

Actually thought mbye played a solid role. Let brooks run the ship.

Surely Brooks has a few weeks left once douehi is in to show hes got what it takes. If not its reggies and find a new club next year.
Garner is not interested a shadow of the player he use to be
Laurie was great, not sure what more he could do
BJ had a stinker, got no early ball. Ready to skewer him
Jet was fine, got no early ball

There's no point watching any game that Mbye starts in.
So I'll be deciding my weekends on Tuesdays.

It's weird, we got smashed through the middle but Tamou, LL, Joe O and Twal were our best players.

BJ Leilua isn't just dumb, he needs to get a brain scan done to see if the part of brain that stops us from making dumb decisions is still there.

Brooks/Liddle/Mbye- Too soft. Didn't look threatening at all. They need a better kicking game, stand with more depth, have a plan. All 3 are just a bunch of failures and losers seriously.

Garner- made some solid runs in the first 20 then wanted to go home. Lazy and soft.

Laurie/Talau/Stefano were promising.

Noffa/Kepaoa- too far from the action

I don’t know whose idea it was to fill a side with so many players who love the low percentage play, but kudos my friend. Kudos.

What are people’s thoughts on switching James Robert’s and Joey Leilua.

Then move Robert’s out to the wing and bring Tommy Talau into the centre’s, AJ out of the top 17?

Garner should have been hooked after the Wighton penalty. He actually laughed which is typical of meatheads who don't get the consequences of their actions.

The commentators on Fox claimed that Canberra online D was great. Well, when you are offside that's what happens. We were poorly treated in that area.

But overall we gave them the game with our high mistake rates and Brooks' poor last tackle kick options.

I would have rated Lucy higher but felt that his runs were very predictable and there was simply no brotherly connection with BJ who should have stayed on the Bus.

I felt aweful after the Reserves game. After this debacle I can't imagine what a fired up & depleted Roosters side will do to us!

Every time you need Brooks to step up he is non existent,Garner should be shafted and never play first grade again,Talau, Simpkin,Douehi in next week

Made me angry to see that.

I don’t understand why every other team that’s had bad runs in the past (Knights, Eels, Panthers) can just revamp their team and become some of the better teams in the comp, yet we go through player after player, combination after combination and it always turns to crap.

I’m sick of signing average players and pretending like they’ll turn us into a premiership threat when 1 in every 5 of them pans out.

Knights got Klemmer, Frizel, Ponga, Pearce and they become a strong team. We sign a bunch of “young guns” that don’t pan out or leave and mid tier players who do the same.

Same story every year

Brooks is still extremely wet behind the ears. And i dont see this changing at all , not now or in the furture. This is just how he is and how he will be.
Its gone on for far too long and we've all given him the benefit of the doubt , some more than others.
The sooner we see the back of him along with Garner and Mbye , the better we'll be.

That is a crazy big and talented Raiders team. We aren't in their class.

But we weren't that bad. We won't play teams that huge every week and we won't be as fatigued as a result.

I take a lot of heart in the recruitment. Our best and brightest today were all recruited on Maguire's watch.
