Look we’ll never know the extent of all the reasons our season has regressed to this point. But ultimately, the buck stops with Benji for all football decisions … Luai, selections, recruitment, preparation, interchange rotation, game stategy etc etc etc.

Now I have said many times, our team has too many LOW IQ players. Unfortunately I have come to the realisation that the players are an extension of our coaching. Our club is floundering with too many LOW IQ decisions in the football dept.

Benji is not going anywhere and he is too proud a man to give up this early. But he needs someone he trusts to tell him he needs to surround himself with assistants who bring what he lacks.

A relevant example is the Broncos of 2023 with Kevin Walters as coach. After they collapsed in 2022 losing 5 of their last 6 games, to miss the finals, Walters sacked attacking coach & club old boy Terry Matterson. Incoming was Lee Briers from England, a strategic mind, who transformed their attack. And Broncos came close to winning a premiership.

Yes different contexts but the right people alongside the coach can be transformational.

I believe that Benji and the team will thrive if someone with experience comes in to help. But Benji has be willing to look at this option, otherwise it will be just the same for ever, things have to change in the area of coaching at the WT's... this doesn't mean that Benji has to go-just accept help

Agree. I would say that if the entire organisation hired skills and ability, we would be continually top 8. Give us a Meritocracy recruitment from the very top and the trust in each other that develops as a result would give us the esprit de corps to achieve any goal. It takes courage and a strong desire for success.

Benji has always had ego issues, I recall him being filthy when he was dropped from first grade and deservedly so, he was playing badly. He had a hissy tantrum. Benji’s ego will not let him admit that he is in over his head or that he needs more experienced help around him, instead he fills the coaching staff with the old boy buddies. Sure he fronts the presser and says the loss is on him & they will look into the why but then he trots out the same players, same lack of game plan and questionable bench selections. Until he takes a good hard look in the mirror or is forced to face reality, nothing will change.

Having an ego & not learning are not always the same thing. I think in Benji's case, his ego is more to do with not believing he cannot succeed, more than never getting anything wrong.
