Yep got to agree and the fact Luai will be demanding big efforts from his forwards , i think he will be good for us

While yes the initial contracts were stupid, we had the big 4 leave.
All of those players: Reynolds, Packer, etc. at least had some performance under Cleary.
We saw nothing really from players that were SOO stars once Madge joined. Seriously Brisbane hires this idiot to replace Kevie? (and we think Pascoe/lee were bad)
 
Madge might have another few years in the next few days. There is no excuse. For Madge. Madge had proved that he needs established players to be successful. He cannot grow an unexperienced team. Unlike Bellamy or Bennett. Taylor? Got rid of people with bigger egos than him... Telescope Tedesco & Moses. There never was a big 4. Just a big 2. In retrospect. The media hyped it up. The subscriber bought it.

Our biggest signing needs to be a new strength and conditioning team to get us stronger in contact and fitter than we have been. I truly believe Luai will drive standards and culture changes we desperately need and with a bit of luck and better use of the roster we can improve as we were in many games this year only to fall away in the last quarter be it by stupid sin bins through laziness in tackles or poor decisions that I am hopeful Luai can improve through his voice or actions on the field.

Hunt will be good for us but like others I would have preferred 2 years instead of 3.

Our biggest signing needs to be getting our strength and conditioning right and performing. I only think we had something decent going when Sironen was in charge. With his son, he seemed to get more out of our forwards.

Ofcourse we had a good pack then, Taupau, Blair, etc.


I haven't seen our pack perform above expectation in ages.
 
I paid more attention to him since we signed him, hes been very underwhelming to me, not impressed.
I really cant see Benji or anyone else here improving him..hope im wrong and hes great for us.
To see him walkings back while some of his team mates run back to get onside after hes been on only a few minutes doesnt inspire me

It's embarrassing rly

But it's been a long season and they were up against the best team of recent times.

We're going to need a lot more effort from him.

- Seems that's where most opinions here are formed from?

He's 30 odd - played 70 odd games - Only in the last 3-4 years...
Most of them for less than half a game (20-30 mins tops) off the Bench,
In a successful (Mostly top 4) side.

Anyone who thinks he 'has another level' in him - Is drunk with delusion.

It's who he is and all he's got.
Anyone who has actually watched him knows that...
He's got a cult following (Decent highlight reel) because he does have some explosiveness....
More people have changed their opinion of him since he signed here,
Now his overall game actually matters to them.

They didn't get rid of him because he's killing it man,
Out of all the middles they have (And there's quite a few)

He was the one they wanted least - I'm invested in him, I'd like to see 2 better middles signed though
1 to replace the one we lost, and 2 - to improve on the ones we kept.

It's a wait and see for me. Until he gets here it's all speculative. It's a done deal so hope a new environment will bring some level of enthusiasm and a new challenge. It will all come back to character.
 
If he's not on big money, playing 25 minutes a game and bringing impact is okay, but we shouldn't expect more than that.

In saying that, I don't know who our "lead" front rower is now. I think we need to find one. RCG for 2 years is my preferred option but not for any longer than 2. The other option is to sign one for 2026 and try and get an early release.

Outside that, There's plenty better than what we got, Go get them....
I reckon the likes of Barnett would be poachable - There'd be others (Without thinking about it too much)
Lawrie is absolute Garbage - Leave him where he is.

We still haven't signed Pole either - Needs to be addressed.
