Allegedly waiting until Bellamy's future is decided before he resigns. If Bellyache retires (which he himself has hinted he may well do on Brett Finch's podcast) we have to offer Pappy 1.1mil+. End of story.

A great player but think in Laurie we have a top class fullback. Spend the money on a half and outside backs

Laurie can play 6 and cover for fullback

Papy $1.1M over two years? Sure thing. Over 1 year? Hell no. Only a handful of players get that, esp with reduced cap post-COVID.

As pointed out we already have a good long-term FB option, what do you do with Papenhuyzen, play him 5/8th?

Also Paps isn't off contract until 2023? Long ways off.

He's one of the best players in the NRL in what universe would he take 550k a year? He's worth every cent of 1.1m. We pay Mbye 900k ffs

The team has a number 1of the future money better spent elsewhere .

What would the Rooster's attitude be if they were in this situation? Laurie can play 6

OMG can’t fathom some are saying no because we have Laurie.

If you have the chance to grab someone like Paps you go hard. Laurie can play 5/8th with ease.

A signing like Paps would be a momentum swing for us. Doubt it would happen however.

Mmm, we seem to have a good thing in Laurie, as electrifying as Paps is..I think we should continue to invest in Daine

This is why we haven't made the finals in 10 years

But rough blaming Laurie for that...

No I'm blaming the attitude of not going after marquee players because we have a chance to develop someone. Take the known commodity
