Sam Harris

I still for the life of me can't believe we ever signed this guy. I watched the Force v Brumbies game tonight and Harris was playing fly half. I have never witnessed a guy make so many mistakes and look totally out of his depth. Did anyone else see this? I know the Union is not everyones cup of tea but Big Sammy had a Barry Crocker

When we actually signed Harris i was rapt. A big, hard running back-rower,what a dud he was. Don't know if it was injury, attitude or both but he stunk.

I really dont think fly half would be his position. He isn't a kicker

All he has to do is kick it out. That's a union pet play, that they go to once every 30-40 seconds.

Yeah I know but they have to get the angle right and I didn't think he was an accurate kicker. That's probably why people are saying he didn't go well. Also, I thought you had to be a play maker to play fly half and he wasn't a play maker in League.

I admit that I don't watch alot of union but I thought the fly half in union is like the halfback in league and the scrum half in union is like the dummyhalf/hooker in league?

Same…...I thought it was a great signing.

We signed him because every time he played against us he killed us. Just didn't agree with him actually playing for us.

Sam Harris is one of the more talented footballers going around. But his inability to consistently channel his talent has held him back.

Prior to winning the Premiership in 2005 we had trouble signing anyone of quality as we were still inconsistant thus we had to sign players that the club felt had potential.
This is why we ended up with Ben Reynolds, John Morris, Ryan O'Hara, Jamaal Lolesi and Sam Harris, it was a case of buying in quantity not quality and hoping that at least one of them would turn out to be a half decent player.
I don't know why JMo copped so much criticism, after all he wasn't the worst of the clubs acquistitions, Sam however will always go down as a dud buy.

He was signed as a centre for the force but with so many injuries ( 6 after the last trial) they hadn't got any other option . But he isn't a 5/8

When Blocker was at manly he said Sam Harris was one of the most talented footballs he has every seen …but said also Sam Harris was the most lazy footballer he has ever seen as well ..and was very happy when manly off loaded him he was on good money at manly
