Looking at the Fox Sports article on who's contracts end this year.

Chris Lewis from the Storm could be an astute pick up for WT to replace Garner. He wouldn't be big dollars and you'd still chase a top line 2nd rower to start but Lewis would be a handy pick up and interchange player that can fill centre or 5/8 if a mid game injury occurred

The Tigers captain looks set to leave the NRL at the end of the year with his management firm in negotiations with several overseas based outfits. Tamou’s experience and leadership qualities will almost certainly land him a deal.

Probably a good way to extend his career, I thought he might retire. He can probably get a 2-3 year contract over there.

Iam hearing that there is no chance Angus will be coming to the tigers .
Again we miss out , surly we can’t go into the 2023 season with one backrower and another coming back from a acl .

He is my sons favourite player. Watched him sun around in the state cup game when we played the Dragons a few weeks back. Absolute cut above that level. My son went up to him after the game and we had a chat to him. He was very polite and respectful. Couldn't say enough nice things about him tbh.

Blore will finally have an injury free preseason and will become the player we know he can be on the left edge. we'll sign Matt Doorey on a 2 year deal on low dollars and he'll become our bench backrower, with O'Kane promoted to the top 30 and serving as cover.

there's been some whispers about Jackson Ferris as well, wouldn't be surprised if he heads over here as depth in the back row and centres.

It was mentioned on a sports show I was listening to, that the sprigs on some top brand footy boots are now longer. Athletes are looking for the extra one percent regarding traction, maneuverability etc. The problem is supposedly compounded by the fact that sponsorship deals prohibit the sportsman from altering the boots in any way because to do so would void the sponsorship. Don't know if there is any truth to this.

How would they know if you altered your boots? They wouldn’t

That backrow won't get us to the top 8 unfortuneately.

You would hope there are incomings, and not just young players going up.

Fonua Pole will come up, but based on what I have seen this season, he is years away from contributing much. Looks like a smaller Mikkaele.

None of them are big losses...but 'combined' that is a lot to lose / very little coming in at this point.

Yeah and Pole should be years away. Was in Flegg last year, as a forward he's years away from his body developing to first grade.

I fail to see how we have "missed out" if we haven't even approached the guy yet or offered a contract.

Unless we intend to remark on the "missing out" of all possible NRL signings, including those not even technically off contract or officially looking for a new deal.

We didn’t get the Cronulla guy and now looks like Crichton not coming. Some said he was talking to Hipgrove but he’s going to Eels. Aitken going to Dolphins.

Plan is not to spend too much $$ on the next second row.

We already have one of the best in the 600k range why would we spend more than that on the next one?

Personally, I think Blore is an upgrade on Kelma and Garner. We do need depth in the position though. Another 700k backrower might not be the best use of coin.

A good Tamou replacement or a quality outside back/fullback would be where we need to strengthen.

I know some people dont want nikora but he still hasnt signed yet with cronulla. Does anyone watch the Q cup .
Surely there are some young backrowers on the rise there ?
