Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Depends if you've got a half a brain or not....

The Storm had a team of immortals
for half a decade,
Cheating the cap deluxe
- With the best coach most of us have ever seen

And still couldn't win every comp....

They've got a great Roster, But they have their fair share of injuries, Suspensions and bad luck
- Just like the other 16 Teams.

Robbo is an intelligent coach, He's successful, Young.....
Who some of the best players in the game love playing for.....

We just don't get it - Because there's only 2-3 of those coaches....
And we've never, ever had one.
The Storm created immortals. Never bought them like Roosters

He might need to actually have some semblance of a career before he starts to take the mickey out of someone elses' you'd think?
He is not wrong though, Robinson has the very best roster every year, and he has under achieved, his record of one win from 20 games since 2020 verse Penrith and Melbourne, is actually pathetic with his squad

The Feagai brothers were meant to be the Dragons great white hope, they have have never been anything but woeful when appearing in the top grade.
Not sure why there was so much hype

Flanno’s cleanout
Not the bloke you want to be on the wrong end
They are re-signing his brother Mat

Well said The Chard.
A big part of our problem has been lack of depth and lack of quality in our replacements when our first choice players are unavailable.
Obviously with the NRL experience given to a lot of our young and inexperienced players, this should automatically be better next season, but we have to ensure there is genuine competition and decent quality cover for every position if we are to climb the NRL ladder in 2025.
You need pressure for spots in the NRL team. Ideally, every guy picked in FG should feel pressure from someone in a lower grade to perform each week to hold their spot. There has been precious little of that over the past few seasons. The flip side of that coin is, when you finally get that depth in a squad, you have to accept that some will leave to lock down a regular first grade spot in a weaker team. I can't wait for the day whe Wests Tigers start losing fringe first graders to weaker teams!

I sometimes get sucked in to reading the first few lines of his columns. When I realise it is mostly dross and drivel, I check out who the author is and sure enough, Dane Eldridge. Time you will never get back!

i actually didn’t mind that. at least he can write unlike half the hacks at News Limited.

the story is from a time when things were very stagnant. i think even Dane would agree we’ve come a fair way since then.

tigers are a very easy target to start a pile on … not sure it takes much writing talent…it’s not just him at work here … but in the “old days” people used to have a bit of a soft spot for the battlers at the wrong end of the table like the Bears, Magpies and those Balmain Tigers teams of the 90s… now its just a continual case of kicking the bottom feeders when they are down ..happens in most sports to be fair

Take both , at those amounts
I think Horsburgh is a like for a like of Stef---minutes on deck and power, but IMO his attack 'n defence is stronger.
Hunt is the bonus tough block buster for the pack. Momentum changer.
We need the Kobe Hetherington types or similar; ie. mobile workhorses to balance the pack in defence and when depth/pressure/injury on incumbents is needed.
We have some already and fingers crossed Johannssen and Sukkar can add to that list.
