Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Sam Fainu, Seyfarth, Tumeth & Sukkar.

Broerdelow later in the year perhaps? Bird can fill in there too.

It's not inspiring. Unless Sione Fainu is potentially looked at in the 2nd row? That changes a lot.

Realistically Kit, Matamua & Kobe if he was to sign, could all fill the role to a degree.

And of course...there's the former Harold Matts winning 2nd rower called Galvin..
Have to be looking to move Sione. One injury to either Seyfarth or Samuela is a worry. Particularly Samuela. In saying that I think Bird and Porter fill in before Tumeth and Sukkar

I know we are short of spots for 25 but you would have to think we are close to getting someone decent for 26. It's been like 8 days and we clearly have spots and cash so fingers crossed Richo has this sorted.

Look up the contract status of Joseph O’Neil. He is their junior HB that won the Jersey Flegg the year prior and almost got the NSWCup to the finals this year. Played 1 or two trial games off the bench for first grade at the start of the year. Not on a 2025 dev contract, not on a first grade contract but I guarantee he will be still be at the dogs next year.
Though behind him is 2024 jf winner Cassius Tia and 2024 SGball grandfinalist Mitch Woods.
Mitch Woods is the only HB at the dogs with a ‘known’ contract.
Btw all three would be higher regarded than Jayden Sullivan for instance.
Oh and Alex Conti is still there.
Dogs just get it.
Yeah the dogs have won plenty of premierships the last 20 years haven't they

Do you realise a club like the Dogs has 2-3 top quality halves in every age group comp? They've got 6-7 genuine first grade prospects through Cup, Flegg and Ball. We basically have none other than Haywood.

Every squad needs 5 halves minimum.

Dogs were top 3 in every grade too btw
Reckon Gus had the same mantra at the Panthers.
Had some Halves academy out there, Think it went with him to the Dogs though.

He's about the only bloke in the game I've heard of that has seen the shortage coming for the last 10+
and looked to do anything about it.

Halves academy has been mentioned as being set up similarly to the Panthers at the Bulldogs since Gus.

im calling it, next year the Bulldogs will go backwards i honestly believe this year was a fluke, teams will have figured them out...there squad is not that good!! yes i know we came last but i think most teams have improved for next year including us.. yes they have the 2nd rower come centre from the roosters and the prop from the UK but i actually dont think they are that good..

I agree.

They overperformed.

agree dogs will miss the semis

Second row options: Sam Fainu, Seyfarth, Bird, Sukkar 😬 (Bateman?)

Would think about testing Tim Johansen there if we don’t buy anyone
Jaxson Rahme will surprise many as edge backrower - ex tigers SG Ball player, Holy Cross junior, ex Aus schoolboys who was with Souths and Newcastle. Only 20 years old - 100KG, 185cm.
Really good player.
