Fair enough. No the point is reserve graders who were overhyped in the off season and never really cracked first grade. Liddle made and stayed in first grade.
You look at all the players listed and all of them have either never played first grade or proven themselves as anything more than a fringe first grader.
What about another next big thing wests tigers signed from QLD, via wests tigers now at brookvale with all the other ex tigers players, hooker Jake SimpsonThere should be an annual Wests Tigers Forum award for the most over-hyped reserve grader of the off-season
2021 - Allan Fitzgibbon
2022 - Oliver Gildart/William Kei
2023 - Triston Reilly
2024 - Alex Lobb
2025 - Tim Johannssen (pending)
Any other nominations from years gone by?
No.Serious question. Is there a rule that says that development contracts must eventually result in a top 30 deal? Seems that’s the way WT have been structuring them anyway.
To me that’s not very logical, we think this guy requires work to get to FG level but we’re going to promise him a FG deal anyway. Providing a disincentive to get better.
ROFL, right on Tucker. When he was one he was overhyped to the shithouse…and beyond.
Isn’t that your point?
Sorry, I meant allegedlyAll charges were dropped.
Funniest part is is that they got rid of DeardenHunt and Reynolds are like 35 each. Not really building a future.
Ezra Mam is a POS.
Good Article and pretty spot on me thinks..time will tellArticle mentions there’s a backrower they want to sign if Bateman leaves. https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/th...-rebuild-of-wests-tigers-20241129-p5kukd.html
Won’t that be Siones spot ?Article mentions there’s a backrower they want to sign if Bateman leaves. https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/th...-rebuild-of-wests-tigers-20241129-p5kukd.html
I'd agree with all that except Klemmer. His experience in the pack and competitiveness is needed in the teamFrom this list of off contracted players I'd only be keeping Seyfarth....A good worker which every club needs.
Adam Doueihi, Josh Feledy, Justin Matamua, Brent Naden, Alex Seyfarth, Charlie Staines, Brandon Tumeth
And if we can add Bud Sullivan, Klemmer and Bateman to that list, we are in a great position for 2026.
Anyone post the article up?Article mentions there’s a backrower they want to sign if Bateman leaves. https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/th...-rebuild-of-wests-tigers-20241129-p5kukd.html
No one is saying he's going to turn into an origin player in an off season. No one is saying he'll be Ellis. He's just a very good young prospect, something which we have very little of in the forwards. And hopefully he can transition into a first grader next season.
First step is to get him on a development contract next year, cut faatape, and promote TJ. Make him full-time, and then see what he can do.
The prospect of him turning into a first grader is more likely than us signing a top prospect for our top 30. He was a standout in NSW cup, despite having no preseason with any team, and starting the year off in Ron massey...
I'd have thought so, but if you also listen to other bits where the talk is that if no shift in January they will pay out someone (presumably Tumuth / Sukkar / Doueihi) so they could also use 2 alternate tracks to a/ sign a new forward b/ bring in Fainu from T&T. Bit confusing but possible to do both by sounds of it.Won’t that be Siones spot ?

Well I can't argue with that.No it’s not the be all, end all, unless you’re the quickest to the ball when the game is on the line?
Dude? Of course there’s more to the game but, Speed helps everyone at everything.
