Since 2004

We are the only club besides Brisbane to have not had a bottom 4 finish. Thought that was interesting. With several clubs including the Dogs, Warriors, Knights, Raiders, Roosters, Sharks, Panthers, Cowboys and Rabbits having more then 1 Bottom 4 finish since then.

I'm certainly not one to get get caught up in mediocrity, or accepting 9th place finishes. I don't think it's a stat to be particularly proud of, considering the amount of finals campaigns we have missed. But interesting none the less.

Have the dragons finished bottom 4??

We've always had too much talent to finish in the bottom tier, no matter how unmotivated they are

interesting indeed. shows that in 5 out of 7 yrs we were 9th-12th, and in the other two yrs we were top 4

yes very interesting stat …..yeah we run 9th a few times but in those times we were without our best players for long periods and some would even say without marshall we would run last so 9th wasnt bad considering.

So we havenet finished in the bottom 4 since 2004, and we have made the finals twice since then too.

Its good to see so many people here are optimistic about mediocrity.

I bet you all of those teams bar the bunnie and maybe the cows have more finals appearances than us since 2004 too.

You are right, since 2005 we have mostly been a very mediocre team.

I was thinking about this the other day, I remember back in the 1990's as a Balmain fan that you could almost except that we were mediocre simply because our future was clouded and we really weren't in a very strong position.

In the early days of the Wests Tigers I think we all felt that success would come, we had hope all of a sudden.

Today we have success in all facets except consistent, professional and methodical performances on the football field.

I for one would like that to change.

Lol yeah and only 1 has won a premiership as well the bulldogs.Nobody remembers who runs 8,7,6,5,4,3 unless its your team.

Great work tigers we are also alot more professional off the field.

any of those teams would swap there 2 or 3 brief semi final appearances for our grandfinal win.

knights panthers dogs roosters southsx2 have all run last and cowboys would have if storm didnt get points taken off them and warriors run equal last with souths.

if we didnt win in 05 maybe then you wouldnt set the bar so high.

Set the bar high?
High expectations are not a bad thing. Ill bet the clb sits down at the start of every year with a goal to AT LEAST make the top 8 come seasons end. Yes im sure most teams would trade their 3 or 4 finals apperances in that time for a GF win, but why should we be happy with that? We call the dragons chokers but before 05 our last premiership was in 69, thats a longer drought than the dragqueens.

So we won in 05, does that mean we can be happy to sit back and coast for another 10 years? Opposition fans say our premiership was a fluke, a flash in the pan, and our results just support that theory.

I expect our team with the experienced and respected players like Marshall, Farrah, Ellis, Tuquiri, Heighington, Galloway to be able to mix it with every team and be a regular at the business end of the season.

If that is setting the bar high, shoot me, i want to support a consistently good team who has a chance of winning comps and being competitive for the whole year.

Newsflash we are in the mix and run third last year so whats the point your trying to make or are you looking at 06 07 08 the old chestnut cause we didnt make the 8

who cares what people opinions are about 05 you cant stop people thinking that. But the facts are we won it and like every other team that has they havent won 2 in a row.St ill are in with a chance to break the trend.

Just repeat we run 3rd in 2010 and we running 7th in 2011.
