Did anyone else think that Billy Slater hit Winterstein high after he off-loaded the other night in the near-try movement? To me it looked obvious that he shoulder-charged him (he didn't look to wrap the arms around) and his shoulder connected squarely with Winterstein's head. Nothing was said by the ref, no penalty or review of the incident at all.
Winterstein was left dazed lying on the ground for quite some time and then gets up with blood coming from his mouth…a pretty sure sign that you have been hit high if you ask me. It was similar to Inglis' one last year ie: he had plenty of time to pick his hitting area and chose to just target his head, actually GI's one was very much more of an accident IMO.
Slater seems to get away with this sort of crap a lot, he is definitely a protected species (I would hate to think how many weeks Blair or Bryce Gibbs would get for a similar tackle). I am eagerly awaiting the day when the dirty bastard cops one in return and I hope it is especially hard, high and vicious :imp:
