I remember 5 months ago when Bruce came - someone on the forum said that he doesn't sing Born in the USA anymore because its a political song or along those lines - so I gave that concert a miss.
But Smeg comes out on the last night of his concert and posts on the forum that he sang the song - I was spewing - this time around I'm pencilling it in!

Who knew rock tours were like city trams and buses? Wait 10 empty years for a Bruce Springsteen tour and all of a sudden you get two at once. Or at least two in a year.

Barely five months since leaving Australia after a soldout, emotionally charged and – with two shows under the moon at Hanging Rock – genuinely iconic tour, the American rock giant has announced a return for more shows. And not just more shows but, for the first time, concerts beyond the eastern seaboard. Perth and Adelaide, which missed out on the E Street Band in 1985, 2003 and 2013, as well as 1997's solo tour, will be the first two cities on next year's tour (February 7 and 11 respectively).

Springsteen will then play single shows, for now, in Melbourne (February 15 at AAMI Park), Sydney (February 19) and Brisbane (February 26). A show at Hope Estate winery in the Hunter Valley on February 22 has also been announced.

According to tour promoter Michael Gudinski, it was in part some guilt over skipping some cities, coupled with the rapturous responses in March, that prompted this unprecedented quick return.

"There was some talk about coming back towards the latter part of the [March] tour, but I thought it would be in the next cycle, five or however many years away," Gudinski said. "[Springsteen] was blown away that 5000 people came over from Perth for the Melbourne and Hanging Rock shows; he couldn't believe it."

In a statement announcing the tour, Springsteen's manager, Jon Landau, described the recent Australian shows – which in July were named the best international contemporary concert at the Helpmann Awards – as "among the very best and most satisfying of our whole 128-show tour".

To the suggestion that this was a chance to milk a ready market some more, Gudinski pointed out that Springsteen could make more money playing stadium shows across Europe or the US than the relatively small shows, including one at a Hunter Valley winery, in Australia. Even so, he expects many people to go multiple nights, as happened in March.

"I have no doubt that Bruce Springsteen will be able to sell out every show," Gudinski said. "We aren't trying to break records, the shows are limited, but the amount of people who went to see every show on that tour was amazing. The real Bruce Springsteen fans are fanatical."

Helping things along in 2014 will be the reformation of legendary Australian band Hunters & Collectors for a one-off performance supporting the E Street Band at Melbourne's AAMI stadium.

Life is too short Flippedy. Too me it felt as though it was Queen coming back to Sydney w/o Freddy. Pizza w/o cheese, hamburger w/o the beef, the world w/o women, bbq w/o beer, a man w/o dog, Wests w/o Benji…....... yes Flippedy thats how it was. What Im afraid of is that they wont sing it next time round. Thats what Im afraid of. i think by hearing Born in the USA it would be closure to my endeavours in Asia, particularly Vietnam, Cambodia & Taiwan - the place that afforded me the opportunity to live there in the past.
i think also by hearing Born in the USA it would seal my experience that led from Asia to America particularly 9/ 11 & what i was to bear that day through to this one today on the eve of the major upset of the NRL season.
