If there's no Balmain involvement there's possibly a legal question on who owns the name. It could get ugly.

My understanding is that the NRL own the name Wests Tigers and the name is licensed to the JV.

I was going to say something about the fans who ONLY follow Wests Tigers. Like you, and me. I am much older than you, and have followed footy since the 70s, but I've been a Wests Tigers fan since 2002. I couldn't give 2 hoots about WM and BT. I wish WT was all grades. I think WT really needs to plan for and look towards the future, and if that means 1 new home ground, 1 KOE, 1 JF, etc, team, then I'm for it.

Well said I was a Balmsin supporter from late 50 's till merger since then I only follow
Wests Tigers and do not even vaguely support either of the original clubs
I wish the past would just go ,get lost and stop destroying the future
If either of the original clubs get resurrected as an NRL club I will not support them !!!

I’ll then start a go fund me page for us to contribute towards

To write a letter to the WT board the HBG the Balmain tigers and wests magpies telling them to leave our club alone.

I think that will in itself generate more publicity than anything else

Fans spending their own money to advertise and have a say against incompetence

Once I get costs tomorrow I’ll come back to the forum …. I’m 100% keen on this and will make it happen - I just need a little support from the forum and fans … I’m from the Balmain tigers side and I’m so pssssd off that these old losers won’t let it go
