After 2 rounds the Wests Tigers are:

4th in posession %
1st in line engaged
5th in line breaks
3rd in tackle breaks
2nd in all metres.
2nd in all runs.
3rd in dummy half runs
1st in offloads.

The only category we lag in is putting the ball down over the line.
We also are last in mental toughness of supporters who've been sucked in to a media narrative.

What narrative ? That we are hopeless. That isn't a narrative. We are the wooden spooners and we haven't made the finals for years. We've been terrible the past 2 games.

Those stats are good though. I'd love to see us get it together and get a win. I think at some point it'll come together. Hopefully this weekend.

Very interesting.. as someone posted, maybe some cohesion and we might start scoring more tries

I’d rather be first in wins and last in all those other stats.

Thanks for these stats. They support a comment I made on another thread that our losses have been so atypical this season. Atypical because we have dominated possession and field position but our attack has been completely dysfunctional.

It is difficult to take any comfort out of the last two weeks (especially last week), but in the past we have lost because we have been unable to compete in the middle and match our opponent’s go forward, which limited our scoring opportunities.

We have a different problem this season – a complete lack of cohesion in attack. We have put ourselves in plenty of scoring positions, but have looked clueless when we get there. I suspect that this is easier to fix than having a middle that is outmuscled most weeks.

It is up to the coaches to get this rabble to cohere in attack. Perhaps, given the new coaching team who are implementing new attacking structures, it will take time to come together. The clock is ticking.

Completed sets would be an interesting stat...

Considering how bad we looked as only allow 17pts so our Defence is not too bad and will get better with confidence and scoring tries.

We also have the 4th cleanest toilets at Leichhardt but the media would never acknowledge that because it doesn't suit their anti WT agenda.

And last on the ladder

Falls on our halves. Everyone else is doing their job and getting us into attacking positions, if you can't score with that much ball at the opposition's end, it falls on the halves and especially the halfback.

Bit of egg on the face of everyone who blamed the pack and the team around Brooks for what were glaringly obvious shortcomings in his game. If he can't structure our sets and get us points when we're on the opponents line 5 times in a game, giving him 10 opportunities isn't suddenly going to make him capable.

Look the reason why we are all frustrated is because anyone can see we dominated both games we just lacked the ability to win them.

If and it’s a massive if on current viewing we change the narrative and happen to convert then we could surprise a few teams this year.

But it’s hard to get excited atm.
