The Australian Rugby League Commission has announced a five-year schedule that will see ANZ Stadium host two games in the 2013 State of Origin Series with Suncorp Stadium hosting the remaining match.

The five-year cycle will see Queensland and NSW each host two series in which they have two home games.

NSW will host two games in 2013 and 2016, Queensland in 2014 and 2017, with each state hosting one game in 2015.

The remaining game in the 2015 season will be played at a neutral venue. The NRL is currently in discussions with the Victorian Major Events Company about Melbourne hosting this match.

The schedule ensures that from 2010-2017 each state will have hosted one ‘two-game-series’ in every three years.

“The five-year schedule provides certainty for fans in each state while recognising the value of Origin on the Australian sporting calendar,” NRL Interim Chief Executive, Mr Shane Mattiske, said today.

“It is a schedule that puts an end to one state surrendering a game at the expense of another when matches are played at a neutral venue and allows for a clear cycle of events.

“This has been a thorough process that has involved extensive negotiation and I would like to thank the NSW, Queensland and Victorian Governments for the way in which those negotiations have taken place.

“Both the NSW and Queensland Governments have backed the schedule and each has expressed a strong commitment to supporting Rugby League.

“This is a schedule that steps back from past arguments about which state has hosted the most games to provide a fair outcome for both. At the same time the new schedule provides an important opportunity to grow Origin and Rugby League in new markets.”

The 2013 Origin Series will see matches at ANZ Stadium on June 5 and July 17 and Suncorp Stadium on June 26.

Tickets for both ANZ Stadium matches will be on sale to NRL Ticketed Club Members from next week and to the general public from early December. The on-sale date for the match at Suncorp Stadium is yet to be confirmed.

Even the ARLC feels sorry for NSW (or more to the point is dominated by NSW people)

So why does the ARLC have the right to change the format , it was Qld turn to host 2 games so it should of stayed that way

If the NSWRL choose to give away a game to Melbourne , thats their perogative it shouldn't then be reason to take a game off Qld

Typical bloody Mexican cheats , can't win so they change the rules Hope we still kick your butts all the way to the Victorian border

Hang on Happy… Is this one of those whinges that you're always accusing NSW fans of engaging in???

Cheats? Well let's ask Macksville's finest Greg Inglis about that

I too thought it was the Maroons year in 2013 to host 2 games? Oh well shouldn't matter too much. They are still only playing NSW….

I'd make some passionate rebuke of that but it's all too true… 😢

My fear is that with the blues definelty on the improve, starting to select the correct players, starting to play as a team, have 2 home games and the fact the maroons are edging closer (by law of averages) to a series loss, that sponge head Daley will be hailed a hero and mastermind.

Even blues supporters must shudder at this possibility…

Well that's the thing isn't it?? We can only hope the players are able to overcome his gibberish or he has some good assistants…

So in 2017, how many series straight will that take Queensland too?

Taking 2 games off Qld will only ignite the 'Gods of Football' to be more determined…

Nothing stopping the QRL from buying 50k Tickets to re-sell them in a package to Queenslanders!!!

I'm guessing GDP in this situation stands for Generally Disappointing Players

Also guessing that means you supply 81% of the Generally Disappointing Players

Don't worry guys you'll eventually win ,it just might take a plane crash or a bus crash to do it

Found it on the E-Harmony singles site

C'mon Ink don't want the wife to find out (PS I wish I looked that good and I wish I was that much of a redneck )

So If NSW can choose players from another Territory still (The ACT)

Why can't we find players from another Territory

Gee ,they are getting desperate to help NSW to win

Soon Qld will only be able to pick players which have a Z,X and V in their surname and were born on the 29th of February
