Sun setting on Leichardt Oval?

Losing all instead of only your own half would be more palatable to some I think

I don't know why everyone is looking at alternative options to Ctown, eg Livo, Warrick Farm, etc when we have our own ground just down the rd. The focus should be on trying to make something that is already ours, in our heartland bigger and better. Why push for a ground that other teams and codes can use as well when we have a ground we can have all to ourselves

That is the whole point of the report. Instead of trying to fund about 8 boutique stadiums across the state, the state government wants a plan in place whereby it invests in 4 high quality state of the art stadiums.

It is about efficient allocation of funding and allows more improvements in other areas of government responsibility such as transport, hospitals etc…

Meanwhile 8 boutique stadiums sit, gather dust, get some A grade soccer played on em occasionally...and just fall to ruin.......very efficient use of funding or a waste of money?

Ratepayers will still have to maintain these grounds, until they & councils get sick of it and they fall to developers

It's not about looking at other options, the government has released a policy that states that they will no longer be upgrading suburban grounds. Yes this will effect Leichardt first, but it will also impact on Campbelltown in the next 10-15 years. The only way the governments decentraliastion of ground will work is if they build a stadium in Western Sydney to house the Western Sydney teams.
