OFFICIAL Sunia "Tito" Turuva

I think Turuva is a better finisher than anyone we have for sure, however his D against the bigger aggressive types is a bit suspect, so unless we sort out our D inside him we are going to see the same weakness on our edge.
The way we are shaping up our centre pairing will be AD and Olam both of whom are unreliable defenders.

When you have to make a tackle on the wing, there’s a pretty fair chance you’re up shit creek. Your centres and second rower have generally missed their assignment.

His value will come from his early set carries and ability to beat defenders, which we severely lack. I just hope his knee isn’t chronic.

Still think centre is a big option.

Turuva is a decent player but so was Dane Laurie. He will make very little difference individually.
We will be in holding pattern until we strengthen the squad around decent players instead of letting 5 go and replacing them with 2.
Def agree with strengthening our squad.

Dane showed glimpses of brilliance, particularly early in his time with us. Then he got smashed, lost confidence and ultimately wanted to go back to Penrith and play ressies with his mates. Which is where he would be without injury to Edwards. Great back up player.

I don’t think that’s a blanket rule I’d say if your not making a 1 on 1 tackle on the wing then your statement applies.
Regardless, if he held and let Casey take Gutherson as he should he would have looked better in defence.
I don’t think people understand how important it is to have a strong defensive centre. The ability to hold any player up in a ball and all effort is mandatory, following that the ability to be able to hold and pivot is just as cruicial. Turuva at Centre this stage would be a liability.
I know it won’t come to fruition but I would be spending an offseason on Turuva to be our primary fullback with the same attention on Bula to become our breakout Centre.
Stephen Critchton is showing everyone Centre is just as important as any of the other back 3 positions.

Come on the tigers are the best club in the NRL , we blood them or pick them up when there down , then we let them go , so they can become stars , just go throw all the other teams and check out how many X tiger players there is . It’s mind boggling

I reckon it takes a certain personality to front up for the tigers every week and try their best every single week. General motivation.

That type personality probably doesn’t go hand in hand with a lot of the younger generation…loyalty comes with strings. Whilst they take the overs paycheck for a while, most end up disillusioned, apathetic and want to taste the greener grass. They have family, friends and managers in their ears.

Wearing an opposition jersey was not ok on my opinion. Laurie was never really a tiger. It’s perfect for Penrith because they have a talented backup player. I’ll eat my words if he ever gets picked for origin.

I think Api and luia are different, but they already have multiple premierships so they need another challenge.

Definitely doesn’t apply in all situations. If you have good defensive centres and second rowers your wingers D is rarely tested. Haven’t seen much of Turuva in the centres but I’d be willing to give him a go there.
