Every body says we have the best young guns in the comp…....they just need a lot more time to develope......

BS,Bird in his first NRL season is killing it for the Sharks, once again he played magnificently for them today, and can play several positions well..even the commentators applauded his game....

Our blokes must be thick, because all and sundry say the will need at least fifty NRL games under their belt...they should take a leaf out of Birds book on how to take on the NRL arena...

Ok ...let me have it...

The difference is , is that we have far too many rookies in the side at once .
As someone posted a few weeks ago , put Tedesco in the Broncos pack and he'd kill it …
Put Moses in the dogs pack and he'll kill it ...
Too many young-un's at once IMO .

I guess they all mature at different stages, TT. While our young halves may be struggling to make the step up to the NRL with any sort of consistency, look at how quickly Woods developed in the front row - a position notoriously hard to excel at whilst still young. There are many other promising young props from other clubs that have been playing for a while, but are still developing, while Woods has gone from strength to strength. I guess you could put Bird in that quick developing category - he's well developed physically as well, compared to guys like Moses and Brooks.

On a side note, how weird is it watching another player named Bird run around strongly at five eighth for Cronulla, as he reminds me so much of Greg Bird when he was beginning to make the grade as a 5/8 with Cronulla as well - deja vu lol.

I think he's been fairly quiet most of the year.

Started out like a house on fire in his first couple of games and was great again today.
But not much in between.
