Taylan "Tiny" May

Olam thing is interesting …rumours around that he has actually made a miraculous recovery ? 😂…. I think Richo sent him over to Lourdes France to bathe in the holy springs over there …

Whatever is the real story … the NRL releasing him was obviosuly not going to be as straight forward as what was being portrayed by some…otherwise it would have happened by now …

It has been reported to me in various circles that this man will likely be given the all clear by Benji to let Richo handle the paperwork and by as early as possibly Thursday this week, the headlines surrounding WT will be the return of Taylan to play with older brother Terrell Davis May.

Posted above as a rumour and am unable to quote the source at this late stage without jeopardising the operation.

It would be appreciated this time if people just took this post for what it is, which is basically a confirmation of what has been positively talked about in many RL circles, and accepted him with open arms as a brother to one of our better signings made in a very, very long time and I’m sure it will all work out for the best.

(Mods welcome to move this to relevant section)

Cheers.
Your post has just shat all over 99% of the other posts on this forum. Whether it happens or not, I appreciate the info.

I'm very happy with our 1-17
17 quality players is not enough to win a comp
IMO We drop off in quality beyond that
Need mainly backline depth so that if someone is out it doesn't make a huge impact
We have Naden ( Rd 7 ) Olam ( maybe never ) Faataape ( attack ok but defence is suspect ) Mason ( got hammered Rd 1)
Taylan May has won grand finals and if he can come with similar attitude to his brother Terrell then I'm all for it

He is cooked. Surgery last year and we are now a month into the season. I don't think WT have ever mentioned they are looking to medically retire him but plenty of other sources have suggested the application has been made.
Maybe he was knocked back and he is trying to get back on the field

Is he deserving more money that Turuva and a host of our other players.

Who are we bidding against??

That's too much money.
I’m not so sure , how much is Olam on and he is getting 100% wages and giving zero input ,
2025 is not much money
2026 is still under his old Panthers contract at $ 600 ,,I note he was one of the best centre in the game and young , he still has the youth on his side and he will get back to being a gun , him and his brothers have all had that be the best drilled into them , 2026 was club option

Think were paying $600k+for this year and next!!
If he retired,he wld get same from players insurance fund, but that wld exclude him from his dream of leading PNG onto the field in 2027
So contin uing to rehab has absolutely no downside for him..but inhibits WTs from freeing up that cap space
Only way Taylon can work is we sign him for 2026 at the expense of 2 of Naden/Staines/Douhi

I don’t think Olam will lead them on in 2027 , he is buggered now and if he keeps playing he is no chance , he should be looking to be part of the group who sets them up , talk to players to come on board , sponsors , fans , he needs to retire now , and take a more gentle approach to football

An educated guess says this is very close to being accurate.
There is no doubt Benji and Wests Tigers like Craig Bellamy and Melbourne Storm before them are sick and tired of Olam’s constant injuries and refusal to take part in pre season or any training because of them and are therefore desperate to get him off our books.
I’d say it is highly likely a potential medical retirement is being held up by Olam’s refusal to accept it, he’d much rather sit around doing nothing and making himself available to play a couple of games each season until he can potentially earn another big contract when the PNG team enter the NRL competition.
He’s taking the piss and should be forced to medically retire by the NRL and if he makes a miraculous recovery to allow him to play for the PNG team then so be it.
