Tedesco injury update

As we all know Teddy had surgery last week for his ankle

Good news in one sense he had no tear in the ankle ligament itself

It was badly strained and no cartilage damage was found

He had a knot tied around the ankle bones itself so the ligament can have time to fix itself and get stronger

Time will tell whether he is out for longer than the 6 weeks initially thought

Thanks for the update Happy. Hopefully he's a quick healer and is back out there in 5-6 weeks.

Hopefully he signs with us soon and takes time to get the injury right. The sooner the better for us however I'd rather he take an extra week and let it heal.

Because there is no ligament damage 6 weeks was worse case scenario Steve

9 weeks would of been based on some ligament damage

I can't see Potter letting him rush back especially still being so early in the season

Unlike Sheens ,Potter shows faith in every player at the club until he is proven otherwise

Can someone explain to me what this actually means?

If your asking what they actually do , No

The idea is the ankle is made completely immobile so his ligaments are given time to recover and can't move around and cause further issues until they have fully recovered

Then it will be a case of strengthening the muscles around it to stabilise it

You have a nerve in your ankle that can become damaged and is why once you roll your ankle you do it regularly and causes continual problems because the ankle isn't getting messages to how you should put your foot down correctly

And before someone starts with the doctors comment I have been going through of all of this with my daughter for the last 9 months

I haven't seen or heard too much on the Tedesco injury front. I read that he was back running at training but does anyone know how far off he is from a return? Sorry if this has been covered somewhere else

Its possible but not probable

Seeing he has only just begun running on it on Monday and on the 29/4 was still getting around on one crutch

Brisbane might be a pipedream Be great if he was though

I think we'll have Gavet back for the Broncos.

Who do you think will make way for him? With Luani likely back at hooker replacing Farah on origin duties, you would think Austin's spot on the bench is safe. That leaves it between Patterson and Sue - my vote would be Patterson, however would be keen to see what he can produce with a few weeks back to back in the top grade.

Potter seems good at shaping a team around our opposition too which is good. Try to exploit their weaknesses.

Patterson is the best replacement to Fulton as he plays a similar game. But Sue has a pretty big motor and obviously adds some grit, hopefully he has a strong game this weekend and we can keep him there

In the normal run of things you'd be keeping Jesse Sue, but he's an unknown quantity coming back into the side from injury. Patterson at least gives you some match fitness. Need to see how they both look against the Sharks.

Isn't Sirronen also back against the broncos

You would imagine young Sirro would have to get some game time under his belt in reserve grade for a couple of weeks before Potter would consider him for the top grade
