Having seen the tries conceded down Teddy's wing the past 2 weeks it's apparent his defence is not up to first grade standard and Potter now has a tough call to make here. Clearly he rates Teddy of more use than Utai. However Teddy looks like a fish out of water when the ball is run in his direction. A lot of it looks like nerves of which are caused by a lack of first grade and lack of positional experience. Potter must decide which way to go here.
1\. Potter can keep Tedesco there in the meantime and know he will improve with each game played there. With match time and training, he will improve.
2\. If Potter wants Teddy in the squad, he may have to look at the pros and cons of Moltzen and Tedesco. Would Moltzen be a better option short term on the wing?? Or does he opt to continue switching them during the game, as per the current set up.
3\. Or does he replace Tedesco with a more natural wing option. Even the possibility of moving Lawrence for the short term out there and bringing in Simona or shifting Moltzen to centre?
Personally i'd stick with option one. Tedesco will eventually end up in the 1\. For now though blooding him on the wing isn't a bad thing, defensive frailties aside. He should improve game to game.
