Telstra

Get a foxtel satellite connection and ask for the best deal on sports and basic. Whilst this will cost more than Kayo you will have very few issues if any with the connection and will not be reliant on the NBN. With broadband, Aussie Broadband are supposed to provide better than average customer service. At the end of the day the NBN provider is really just a billing company, who are supposed to provide customer service. NBN do the network maintanence, connections etc. If you currently have a stable NBN connection, you should be fine with any larger NBN provider who should provide acceptable speeds, especially in peak times. Really comes down to how much you are willing to spend. Also I thought I read somewhere that Telstra will lose the NRL streaming via their Foxtel package next year, after the Foxtel contract was signed. Maybe someone can confirm.

Don't forget you can trial Kayo free for a fortnight too if you want to test your internet connection to see if it freezes/lags during games

They are not losing the NRL from their Foxtel package, they are losing it from their NRL app. If you have foxtel from Telstra you will still get the NRL.

I've got to get away from Telstra.

I pay my account by direct debit to my credit card. Nothing has changed and the credit card is two years away from expiry but all of a sudden my direct debit is failing. Only Telstra - no other direct debits. And you can't email them or talk to them. It used to be difficult to find a way to talk to Telstra but they seem to have upgraded their systems to now make it impossible.

The only reason I deal with them is because I have a home phone/internet/foxtel bundle.
The home phone I don't care about. We can use our mobiles. the only calls we got on it are scammers.
The internet I can get anywhere pretty much.
But foxtel... the only thing I watch on it is rugby league. I know there are alternatives but I see posts on here of people mid-game saying that this or that platform has gone down. I don't want that.

Is there a reliable alternative that will allow me to watch every game?

I had the exact bundle, foxtel platinum with an extra box was like $140. Got rid of it & like already mentioned here, $15 kayo per month.. my brother got Netflix, my sister Stan and we just shared🙂

Also i was Running projector and got this Xiaomi MI BOX S Android 8.1 Smart 4K Mi TV and it turned my projector into a smart tv!

Maybe you should post this on the Whirlpool Forum?

Thanks mate. I'm a 68 year old technological neanderthal. I had to google that to see what it is. Yeah, you're probably right but this also happened a few years ago (when you could find someone to talk to) and it went on for ages and took months to fix.

This time I think I'll just vote with my feet.

You are not the only Neanderthal on here. I also have the same plans as you. My biggest problem is I cant get catch up in both rooms, and often cant get it in either. The only way to get it for a short while is to disconnect the box and then reconnect. Find it very hard to talk to anybody and the problem is not covered by their automated systems. I pay a fortune for the lot.

Something I discovered yesterday, Telstra has added a new reward, 'Binge' free for 3 months for Telstra customers. Binge is Foxtel's attempt at Netflix. Also, the higher reward tier you're on, the longer you get it for free, I.e Gold rewards member get it free for 12 months.

Also saw something they were offering Kayo for $15 a month for 12 months not sure about terms and conditions.
