The big clubs vs the bottom feeders

Phil Gould spoke to Graham Annesley about this and Annesley supposedly said that there is a bias. The ref's are unconsciously harder on the lesser teams.

Can't find the video, saw it last week.

The bias is there for all to see.

Jazz Tevaga gets suspended for 2 weeks for a cannonball tackle. Exact same incident, Asofa-Solomona and Lindsay Collins...both from 2 of the 'chosen clubs' get zero. Plain as day. It's disgusting and needs to be called out more often from coaches whose teams are constantly getting stuffed by refs, match review panel and judiciary. The game is rotten.
It was a bad look granted, but his first contact was on the thigh above the knee. I don’t like the tackle either but by the law the only thing they can charge him is hitting him with force.
Cronk mentioned they would be better off making the rule that the defending player needs to keep their feet when coming third man and just tackle with their arms, no driving no lifting or dropping the hips

Which tackle are you talking about in the first paragraph?

It was on six tackles with Gus. Apparently a 'bottom team" coach spoke to Annesley when that was confessed but the word "bias" wasn't used.

I understand (not agree) where the refs come from, they will definitely say watch for Hetherington if he does a swinging arm, Radley with a shoulder charge etc.. what I don't like is teams like Parra, Roosters and Penrith continuously get 50-50 calls going towards them, always at the important junctions.

Refs are just easy to blame, the fact is the better team always wins. There are a very few outliers. It's frustrating for bottom teams because they're sick of their team playing shit and can't do anything about it.

Having a crap team doesn't come into it IMO. Supporters are sick of the bias. Watch quite a few other games of a weekend, us and Bulldogs cop the vast majority of bad calls. That can't be a coincidence week after week, year after year.
When it is not your team playing and you can still recognise certain clubs getting shafted every week it's a major problem.
