The Flasher Arrested!.

Just read a brief report on the Foxsports site that Brendan 'The Flasher' Fevola, the gAyFL 'superstar' was arrested at 4.30am while 'enjoying' NYE by Fortitude Valley police.
The arrest has been confirmed by Brisbane Lions officials with more details to come, after what happened at St Kilda with an underage girl and now this buffoon back in the news surely Rugby League can top this, just kidding! :righton: .

RL has to stand up, we cant let AFL get away with all this controversey. Someone [edited by moderating team] do something!

I know this is said a lot, but imagine the ribbing Fevola would constantly get if he played in the NRL. The guy makes Todd Carney look like a modern day saint.

Hopefully it spells the end of his AFL career. He clearly needs a wakeup call and if that involves a spell behind bars then so be it.

A really good player TBH but a low shameless character. If he was in NRL, I would rather go for Bulldogs than have this low life peanut with the Tigers.

Brisbane have been looking for an excuse to punt him and stupid Brendan has given them one.

A-grade idiot…

barring from assulting someone ….who really gives a crap, its NYE...ffs they can cut loose like every other human being...im sure there was 100 worse things happen that night that dont get air time...seriously

He broke the law and he's a supposed to be a professional athlete and a role model to kids. He can 'cut loose like every other human being' as long as does it within the confines of the law. He stuffed up and now he has to deal with whatever consequences come his way.

You may be right and it may be a relatively minor matter but if I was on 500k (or whatever he gets) and knew my employer was looking for a reason to sack me, I'd be inclined to steer clear of any event that might lead to be getting the elbow. He's got a long time after he retires to get smashed and cause problems.

Besides he has a track record as a goose of the highest order. Some people never learn and Fervola seems like one of those people. The way the bloke gambles, he might be the first AFL player to finish in the red.

sorry i forgot that because you kick a football for a living means you cant get smashed on new years eve…who said he is supposed to be a role model?...role models are your parents and family.... this is just a press beat up like it was for JT...

No but it means you become a public figure and therefore should act and behave accordingly… are you kidding? As you get older no doubt you start to idolise people such as your parents, as a kid... comeon... I played soccer for years and idolised Marco Van Basten, just as my friend who played stricker next to me idolised Roberto Baggio....

Then I started skating... and I idolised Rodney Mullen and Chad Muska.

Who you idolise depends on your interests and hobbies...

But hey... yes child should only idolise their parents :unamused:.

You seem totally ignorant of the fact he was given a lawful direction by Police and then became aggressive towards them and failed to move on - which is why he got arrested. An AFL player of his stature knows that they are in the public limelight and are role models for young kids growing up playing the game. Again you're showing your ignorance by simply referring to role models as your friends and family - a role model can be anyone. Press beat up or not, he is in this situation thanks to his own doing.

Some idiots never cease to amaze me. They need to get over themselves and grow up. As soon as they realize the world doesn't revolve around them, the better off we'll be. The sooner he gets rubbed out of here the better we'll all be…..again.

idolising a footballer and being role models are completely different things Kaiser…

And I suppose you think players such as Benji Marshall and Jarryd Hayne aren't role models to young Rugby League players? Your ignorance astounds me.

They shouldnt be.
But yes they are..
They should be admired for their talents…..but if parents are parenting properly the real role models for their kids shouldnt be public figures but more personal people like parents, g/parents, teachers, coaches etc if theyre worthy of that status

Some idiots never cease to amaze me. They need to get over themselves and grow up. As soon as they realize the world doesn't revolve around them, the better off we'll be. The sooner he gets rubbed out of here the better we'll all be.....again.

Fevola being a goose doesnt affect me in the slightest and I'll be no better off if he learns a lesson or contiues with his dumb stunts. Fact is theres d/heads everywhere, in our familys, work, social and sporting circles, on the roads....we all have to deal with them...wether they get to you is up to you

if parents are encouraging kids to look up to footballers or any sport stars other then their on field performance then they have failed as parents..

i was a huge mike tyson fan when i was younger..loved him…idolised him...but i didnt start r@ping people and biting ears because he did...being some kids hero and idol isnt the same as being a role model...a role model is someone who kids continuly have contact with..like ink said...parents grand parents teachers and so on should be role model not sport stars..

The bloke is am imbecile - and a credit to his sport!!!

This sort of crap was consistently covered-up by the paternal Melbourne media when he was at Carlton - but in Brissy - only the Broncos are a protected species (just ask Thurston)!!

As for role models - most kids do not have parents who have reached the dizzying heights of professional sportspeople - and it is these athletes who fill that gap & represent to kids what sacrifices and hard work they need to undertake to achieve their dreams (i.e. a type of "role model")!

How these sportsmen then conduct themselves upon achieving professional success is yet another area of influence outside of their parent's realm (just look at how many young kids at tennis courts around Australia go off like Lleyton Hewitt at his worst (Tomic anyone?) - while I have no doubt Federer has contributed to a much better junior tennis culture in Switzerland)!!

Parents are undoubtedly a child's primary role-models to teach right from wrong etc - however these lessons become diluted by the increasingly abominable public behaviour of high-profile sporting idols who have a different role - but one that is equally influential in its own right!!!

Regardless of what he does for a living, you'd think a bloke who has had so many brushes with the law, because he is consistently stuffing up would eventually learn, and pull his head in. Not this idiot though, AFL's response to Willie Mason, both in appearance and intelligence.

The issue of what he does for a living is still relevant in his case (and that of other high profile sportspeople)!!!

However - the main issue here is that his own ego & sense of self-importance (+ lack of control & poor character) have seen him refuse to accept a lawful direction & respond with empty physical threats to the officers- that he lacked the bollocks to follow-through with while being cuffed!!!!!

If I trip over my feet during a drinking session and am refused service/asked to leave - I respectfully leave & go to the next pub!!!!!!

He is an undisciplined menace to general society who should not be allowed to get drunk off the sponsors' dollar - (have a look at that Mr Demetriou) - and yet if he had not gambled his entire fortune away - he would have been able to at least afford a cab!!! Not that any Brisbane cab would take him on a good day - from my contacts!

The only way to stop this fool is in a cell!!!!
