I've said it before & I'll say it again, I believe there is a concerted effort by the media to destroy the club. Yes they have praised some of the recent signings BUT now they are constantly digging into contract clauses?

It started a while back with Stefano, but then it was Bateman, Klemmer now Romey & Bulla!!
They have also brought up that scummy player manager Isaac Moses & his antics with our players over the years etc, how he tried to get Galvin released and how he may get Bulla on his books and basically suggesting Moses could gut our roster like he did in 2016/17.

The Murdoch Media also are co-owners of the NRL & in recent years WT have copped the rough end of the pineapple when it comes to refs with way more dodgy refereeing decisions than most if not all other clubs including some VERY controversial losses, especially the infamous loss against the Cowboys after the bell.

Is there a conspiratorial covert push to get rid of the WT as the NRL add at least 2 new teams? Sometimes I believe that is so, led by the media particularly the Murdoch Media.
 
While we have a board that continues to shoot itself in the foot and a fan base ready to click on any crap that’s written then we will remain an easy target.

And we know todays journalists are not capable of breaking any juicy news so they have become hacks that write gossip corner articles.

Sure the club has never been able to get out of the way of itself but Its the exact opposite, Journos, now called activists are employed purely to sell clicks, nothing to do with truth or integrity, just like how everything is Trump for the last decade. Tigers sell. They are popular. If no one read those clicks they would stop writing them.
 
I can't say if it really is a concerted media effort to influence our club's demise.
But sure as hell, our club and our massive fan base ensures all media focuses on us, disproportionately to other teams.
It would seem to me:
Media KPis = Wests Tigers articles = click bait = assured media outcomes

A couple of months ago I was listening to a media ratings expert on radio (I think on Sen) talk about clicks on articles. He used the Tigers as an example that on average a Tigers article would generate over 100k clicks giving the journalist their targeted amount. When the board was removed late last year, Michelle Bishop confirmed she had constant contact with Lee Hagipantelis often with him openly telling her behind the scenes of things happening. We now have Brent Read who is mates with Richo spinning any Tigers articles in a positive manner. We also make it very easy for rubbish articles because we have made some rubbish decisions and dished up some rubbish performances. I can remember an article highlighting that Luke Brooks had played x amount of games for no finals footy and painted him in a very negative light. When he signed with Manly that very same media outlet put up headlines “Signing of the year” before he had even played. I have no doubt that the recent leaks regarding (Romey & Bula) are from our former Ceo & Chairman and a current board member because it was only last week that Richo was very clear and very vocal how our new sponsorship deals are the biggest in the club’s history. Remember some articles when Brydens ended their association with us, Lee said Tigers would struggle to find a sponsor who puts in the dollars that Brydens put in. One thing will minimise the constant beat down of us is winning. Its simple, win and they win mostly leave us alone.

the overwhelming source of leaks are from the player managers …. None of us know who leaked these stories about Bula and JL… but their agents would be my pick …

Take for example the news about Galvin last year wanting out of the club - these definitely came from his agent calling the journalist

Journalists are talking to some of these guys every week to get stories

Are you saying it’s in the clubs best interest to lose? Possibly in Benji’s best interests to lose for another season or at least until he becomes a household name in Las Vegas.

Why would they wanna destroy us? Their easy clicks will be gone. It’s just vultures picking over a carcass. Win more games and stop doing dumb things and there be less shite to read about.
 
Simple way to knock the media out
Win Games just win games
Win games against Melbourne , Roosters , Broncos , Cowboys , etc , the top teams to show we mean business.
Don’t have players sent to the bin for dumb stuff
Don’t have players suspended every second week
Get Galvin signed up asap

Whilst I agree on the agents leaking plenty. These latest things would not have come from Romey or Wok (Romey’s) manager. Did Richo leak it? Not likely. I think Wok will want some answers to be honest. There is one board member who is very close to Lee and has been at the club for way too many years. A little payback considering how positive things have been on the back of Richo’s presser last week. Many articles highlighted the positive change at the club since the new management took over. But your right player agents would definitely be front and centre of majority of leaks

who is the board member that is close to him ? Name the name …The Board fired his arse a year ago right ? He probably hates them more than anyone else

But anyway …let’s unpack this ..

So Lee has managed to keep his big mouth shut about this news for a year, and waited until the middle of the offseason to leak it …when it would have been much more damaging six months ago when they were trying to sign other players ,… does that sound like his MO?

JLs Manager has an interest in getting the news out there that he is potentially available to sign in 12 months time

Win & you have happier players and happier player managers. The media against us is purely a result of long term habitual losing.

Its quite simple.
The Wests Tigers are the joke of the code and as the clowns of the league, they provide entertainment to all concerned with the game. If we wrote down all the idiot things that people in charge of and playing for this club have done over the past decade, we'd fill 10 pages. I mean only last week Richo claimed we had the best spine in the league. Look at the attention seeking crap that was involved with our jersey and sponsor reveal....The antics of our club make other fans feel better about their own...."could be worse, we arent the Tigers".
Its not just our fans eating up every article. Schadenfruede plays its role and having a slightly sensationalist headline will always result in huge clicks. Our club exists in many ways for other fans to have a giggle and talk about our misfortunes.
The biggest story this morning is that Madge wants his players to wear shirts at training. Thats pretty boring compared with us and our generous player options, board infighting and ex administrators plotting revenge. Id suggest we would make a popular topic for a reality tv show...except we have already tried that....and failed lol.
