If it wasn't for injuries and our parasite laden board, i reckon the top 4 wouldn't have been beyond us this yr.

What could have been.

I have no doubt with just a few less injuries the team would be in the top 4 and ironically Potter would be coach of the year go figure! But as most say he had no idea as a coach!

Yep, we could have easily been building to a pretty special achievement this yr.

As Chrissy Amphlett said ''Its a fine line between pleasure and pain''

Always next Year…A Wests Tigers supporters motto...unfortunately

Totally disagree. We have had about 4 excellent games… We have won 3 that we barely deserved (eg Parra and Canberra game where they missed the penalty goal)

Injuries have been rough but not the end of the world.

Our top 25 is not balanced. We struggle to cover injuries. We have weighted to youth (that's ok)

Let's all remember that most of our amazing wins have been when the other team barely turned up. Manly were sound asleep and dropped so much ball and missed so many tackles that they made us look good.

Next year will be another long year, though we will do better.

No not top four.

PS the board / rumours has at most has cost us 1 game- dragons. Melbourne looked very good tonight, we were alway going to struggle.

We don't struggle to cover injuries. We actually have insanely good depth. That's why we're still able to beat teams like the Bulldogs despite having half our team missing.

I sort of agree , but I think we struggle because we have too many inexperienced youngsters coming into top grade at the same time . It could be 2-3 years away before we see a consistent playing group IMO

As I said it has been a different season completely

Usually we lose half a forward pack

This season we have lost almost an entire backline

Far easier to cover forwards than it is to cover backs

Why don't Melbourne ever have a bad run with injuries?

Exactly…and how does Cronk come back early from injury ?

I am not calling it bad luck..there has to be more to it.
The fact is every year we have a lot of injuries, it's just a fact that every year it's the one thing we do "better" than any other team and that's get players injured.

I think we are 3-5 years off consistently good footy.
Look at the 2005 bunch, they had form, a good mix of youth and experience, good luck with injuries and went all the way because they got on a roll no one could handle. After that I don't think they played anywhere near their potential until 2010/2011.

To me this year is the breakthrough year, like 2005, but the injuries have stopped the top four push. I'd be surprised if we were a consistent team, especially in defence, in the next 2 years.

The signs I've seen the year are as exciting as 2005 to me. In fact, in hindsight, the disappointment of the four years post premiership really make 2005 bittersweet for me, all those wasted seasons. Taking away the premiership, it's fair to call this a bit of a breakout year for some of our players, similar to 05\. I hope we back up next year and make the 8\. That will keep this flame of excitement glowing in a way the last batch of youngsters couldn't.

Iam with you, we are at least two years away from being a team that will win most weeks over the entire season.

At present to many kids and not enough quality in our experienced players.Basically to many plodders and not enough athletes.

Who ever gets the nod to coach in 2015 will have his hands full
