Thomas Mikaele

Thought it was about time this guy received his own thread. In a NYC team that has not been performing too well this season, Mikaele is looking like an absolute beast. One of the hardest runners we've ever had in the NYC and can throw a pass at the line. He was also named in the NYC team of the week.

Along with Felise and Junior Tatola, Mikaele is starting to look like he should be in the first grade squad sooner rather than later. 194cm, 108kg and only just turned 19 in January. He will probably need to spend some time in NSW cup to get use to the speed of the game, but he most definitely has the size and skill set to make it in first grade. Not to mention he is excellent in the defensive line (96% tackle completion rate).

Agree he is a damaging forward looks the goods.
Reads the game well does not look raw like Paseka did.

Thanks for posting this information. I look forward to watching his progress.

You seem to have a good knowledge about whats going on. Had a look at your profile, good to have you here.

Last week was his best game…before that not so much...

Only young though..

Spot on. He's only turned 19 this year and has a long way to go. Like any young player he will be inconsistent and will need to develop mental toughness. He seems to be progressing really well for a guy 8 games into his NYC career (better than most we've seen). Would definitely benefit from a few games in NSW cup at some point to see where his progression is at.

Needs time to grow into his body. Lacks consistency, but a great prospect for this club if you surround him with a stable environment. Will be named in the QLD U20 side barring injury.
