I read tons of post about this and that guy.

Like most here on the forum we dont get to see much under 20s and no BRET or Wests Games

So… Who are the players not in th 1st grade side today that we must retain at all costs and Why??

1 Jake Mullaney…..Outstanding young prospect, scores tries kick goals a Hodgo clone
2 Faleula Finau....Pace to burn will only get better
3 Joel Jackson...Strong robust winger/centre who is just getting back to his best after injury. Brings the ball back like Karmichael Hunt...
4 Jake Clarke...Last year in the 20's Very good defensive centre who knows how to find the tryline
5 Sama Savou...Pace and Skill and toughness
6 Curtis Sironen ...17yo with the pedigree already signed for 3 years.
7 Liam Ayoub... Young half who has all the skills defence is a Liabilty at times but is improving
8 Neil Begovich ...Outstanding in his first Year in the 20's..A young Skandalis
9 Sam Stanford ..Griity rake very smart out of Dummy half
10 Junior Roqica...The bloke who has grown from a winger to an extremely effective Prop Forward..Great Season
11 Shaun Spence...Find of the Year for mine....Defence is first rate plays the full 80 and very dangerous wide running backrower...
12 Ben Murdoch...the bloke is a freak..slow start but with more fittnes is now carving up. Needs a shoulder reco
13 Matt Hyland.... Tackling machine who charges all day long...leads from the front everyweek

14 Dean Parata...smart dummy half who can play in the halves
15 Aaron Woods...Rated the equal of Fifita,,,injury has cruelled his season but well and truly in the Wests Tigers plans for the future
16 James Leuluai...Big and strong no nonsense forward
17 Isaac Liu...Another Young Prop from Kebra still another 2 years in the 20's
18 Ethan Tafili...Rips in off the bench
19 Bodie Clarke...very talented footballer who can play any position in the backline...Centre is his best position
20 Mason Talolua...See Ethan
22 Vaha Pulu...See Mason
23 Pat Politoni...Another classy rake who has a ton of toe....

Hows that......

You can't keep them all but luckily it is a very young side still......

My favourite player of all the young guns would without a doubt be Ben Murdoch. Since his move to second row he has become explosive, almost unstoppable and a try scoring machine.

Most NYC players are only tied up to the age of 20..It will be interesting to see who is offered a contract when they are no longer eligible for NYC.

Everyone talks about Jake Mullaney but with the signing of McKinnon I just get the impression he is not in future plans.

I like the winger Faleula Finau I can see him getting a chance in the top grade next year.

Ben Murdoch, Junior Roqica, Neil Begovich, Shaun Spence, Matt Hyland and Aaron Woods are the others with ticks against their names.

Joel Wisbey and Limoni Kamuta seemed to have disappeared of the radar for now.

Geo has covered it pretty well. Mullaney needs a bit of extra size to handle FG week in, week out, but all the ingredients are there. Finau can play NYC next season still but is one to watch. Pretty sure Jackson can play NYC next year again too, along with the likes of Roqica, Woods, Murdoch, Sirro, Lui, Spence, Parata…

Of the guys who are not eligible to play NYC next season, Neil Begovich and Jake Mullaney are two I can see most likely to get a run in FG. I'm not a huge fan of Hyland, he needs a bit more bulk and needs to start hitting harder before I change my mind on his prospects.

Pretty sure Neil Begovich can play next year Willow. Of the current regular starting pack, Hyland only one to move up.

You're right, his birthdate is 29 Jan 1991 so he just scrapes in for for next year.

so that means january is ok does it what is the exact rule for age turning 20 on jan 1 is ok i presume

I really rate Dean Parata. Very similar player to Isaac Luke. Also likes to get out into the halves occasionally like Farah. Wouldn't mind hanging on to him.

Dean Parata is still only 18! Wow. Turns 19 in October. Still eligible for 20s next year. I think he went to Keebra Park.

Jake Mullaney, Faleula Finau, Junior Roqica, Ben Murdoch.. And although we havnt seen much of Curtis Sironen yet I think its safe to say he will be somethng.

What happened to Limoni Kamuta? He was very fast and could play a few different positions in the back-line. He wasn't big but I thought he would get bigger as he gets older.

If turning 20 in the year playing all OK. So yeah Jan 1 is fine.

I think Juniors birthday is the 29th of Febuary…that would make him about 35 next year and still eligble for NYC.. 😕
