A little bit of news on the Tigers in the week's RLW and Big League magazines. Liam Fulton put his hand up for the loss to the Roosters in throwing the intercept pass and has vowed to make amends this week…The boys also got stuck into Heighno for not falling on the ball, he snapped apparently but has settled down now.

Tame Tupou requires another knee op. He's been pulling up sore after playing for Balmain. Sheens says Tame has plenty of talent, size and strength, but there's no mention whether he will be sticking around next year. Same goes for Jason Cayless who hasn't been sighted for months. His future is uncertain at the moment.

Big article on Payten in Big League. He's off contract at the end of next season but would like to go around for 1 more year, possibly in the UK. He also has his cert II in rugby league coaching and this is what he is looking at doing when he retires. He has spoken to Sheens a lot about coaching and getting a gig as an assistant coach or coaching one of the lower grade teams is not out of the question for him down the track.

It was a pretty poor effort by Heino… I don't blame the guys for snapping. I would like to know what was going through his mind to leave the ball sitting there. But he has given it his all during the season and the blame can't sit on his shoulders.

I think he was worried that he would be penalised for diving in a scrum. That is the only reason i can think of. even if he was a bit slow to get to the ball the bloody scrum should not have been anyway. DAMN HAYNE

Todd seems pretty astute. Would certainly get him involved from a coaching perspective, maybe one of the junior rep teams or U/20's

I agree 100% - we had to pack a 5 man scrum - usually the lock picks the ball up as it comes out but obviously there wasn't one - i think he was confused as to whether he could fall on it considering he was packing in the second row - the other question is why the hell didn't Farah pack in to the second row or better still at lock instead of feeding the ball - personally i think we panicked when we packed the scrum.

Payten only refers to the UK as an option if the Tigers club does not want him!!! His preference is clearly to stay!

i reckon heighington was thinking so much about not wanting to knock it on that he was just too slow in the end. coz he goes to pick it, but then it hits fifitas foot, so he takes another second, n by that time FPN has dived on it. i feel so sorry for the guy, he gives it his all every week

Clearly Todd Payten has been one of the unsung heroes this season. I would hope that if he is prepared to go another season, when he comes off contract the WT would grab him :master:
