Bruce Stadium underwent an amazing transformation for this memorable occasion, looking more like a mid-season NFL venue. In a first for the premiership competition, this encounter was played in snow. Incredibly, over 7000 people were in attendance to witness this historic game that saw snowballs thrown among the crowd and even at television commentators. Almost forgotten among all this was an absolute thriller, contested by players that overcame frostbite with half-time showers. Would Canberra, led by Laurie Daley, adapt better to the unique conditions as they hosted the second-placed Wests Tigers?

We are winning easily at the moment and yes i remember that gane well we were leading up until the last few minutes and i think a kick and chase at the end of the game buried us and we were coming 2nd at the time.

I remember this game, the often unremarked that Hopoate almost scored on the wing on fulltime to get us up and win - almost. Commentators didn't even mention this at the time.

2/3s of the way thru the game and it began to snow at my location at the time.
