Tim sheens is unprofessional

I strongly believe that woods is being held back because he is a weststigers player. I hope he plays the rest of the year and soo so strongly that shifty sheens has to pick him.
Its a disgrace that thiaday was firstly picked in front of woods and since being ruled out he has been replaced by a uncapped player in Gillette. To add further insult tate is the new 18th man cover for Gillette. he has a centre as cover for a second row/ front row position. why doesn't shifty come out and just say I didn't pick him because he is a tiger. I think Curtis rowe would get a run before woodsy

didnt gillete play in the WC and the four nations before that?

i have no problem with woodsy not being picked. he was really bad in SOO last year and even though he has had a flying start this year- the roos have always maintained that they will stick to incumbents unless someone is injured.

sooner or later woodsy will force his way into the roos.

PS robbie was picked for the WC last year as a tiger

What a silly post! You're aware that sheens doesn't pick the team by himself aren't you???
How do you know sheens didn't fight to get woods but in the end didn't get him? Sheens loves woodsy and woodsy loves sheens. They have a good bond. And yes ppl this is all fact straight from Aaron himself.
I'm certain that woods has been unlucky to miss out and for what it's worth, I'm not a fan of the team they have picked for the roos!

Yeah they won the World Cup and all players that are fit deserve another shot

Hodges is my only criticism of the side

He was ruled out due to lack of match fitness , but he and Gallen played exactly the same amount of minutes

Hodges is a far better centre than Morris and you'd keep all the SOO combinations

As said previously won't matter , we will win by 50

And, ultimately, who cares? It's a minor distraction to the regular season. Somebody tell me the result. I won't be bothered watching it.

Australian team representation is overrated and means little post the Super Leaguer era…Australia is so dominant....SOO is what the players really aspire toward....

I don't see why he wouldn't pick tigers players just because they play for the tigers it wasn't the players that kicked him out of the head coaching role, why would he hold a grudge against tigers players

Woods wasnt picked because he hasnt proved himself at rep level. Aaron was poor in origin last year, his lack of speed was badly found out, and therefore cant criticise Aussie selectors for not picking him.

Hopefully Aaron will get picked for NSW again this year and prove that last year was a learning experience.

The OP is way off the mark.

Most everyone else has it right - for as long as Australia stay #1, the team hardly ever changes. Incumbents will always be preferred and we all know that Tim Sheens, of all coaches especially, loves an incumbent.

Woodsie would have to absolutely tear up the comp to oust Tamou and Scott right now. The other spots have gone to mobile players - the Kiwis have plenty of size, they always struggle with mobility.

I'm personally glad that Fifita is out, his form has fallen dramatically.

Really, this thread should be about the big clear-out that appears to have taken place in the Kiwi side. Loads of notable omissions.

yeah, silly post… The Australian Team is traditionally picked on Form. Form in the Australian Jersey first and foremost!

As stated, the players picked are proven performers in the Australian Jumper and have not deserved to be dropped. The only omissions I'd question is Fifita. He handled the step up in the World Cup really well last year, so I'd assume he was overlooked due to his big mouth!

We might think Woods is killing it as we love him and his workload is really high, but the area which Aaron needed improving in to force the Selectors over incumbents, was an increase in meters gained per hit-up. Once he gets this above 8-9m, he will get his shot.

He was very close and there is no doubt he will be there... Just not this time!

For this side, we roll out the same side as they finished the year before more or less, with the reasoning that they did the job before, whoever we pick will do the job….

Some of the selections baffle me, James Tamou has been very poor the last year and a half, he was terrific in 2012, but either side of that has been average, hardly warrants a walk upstart for all the rep teams.

I see Matt Gillet as a talented player, but cant agree he is in the best 17 in the country, I also think Bird is massively overated, yet again walk up start for every rep side.

Brent Tate as 18th man is unbelievable.

Id have picked Woods or Fifita ahead of Tamou in a heart beat, in fact i Wouldnt have Tamou in the top half of performers in the comp.

Id have went Hodges, but can understand Morris ahead of him given lack of match fitness and there is not a huge difference between them.

Does Woods even deserve a SOO spot ? Has he even been our best prop this season ?

Tim Sheens is definitely unprofessional but not choosing Woods is not a reason to make that point.

Does Sheens get paid much for coaching this side? Because I think I can get these boys to beat NZ too…
