I applaud the youngsters for getting on here and having a red hot go. Maybe they should be acknowledged as juniors but not have the ability to be DM'd unless done through a Mod? Not sure the functionality though of the App

dont like the idea. i joined this forum when i was 14\. slowly, i learned a lot of things on this forum. i dont think that tag is benefiting them in any way.

plus, it's a forum not an amusement park. any person of any age can say whatever they wish to say (without breaching forum rules) and simply, dont like it, dont read it.

Look, I just don't want 12 or 13 year olds getting butchered for being displaying their exuberance or having differing opinions on team selections. One particular member has been getting belted from pillar to post and he's just a kid who wants to have his say, and he's not even being rude or obnoxious to even justify the sort of negative responses he's been receiving.

I hear what your saying, but unless there is a dead giveaway in the username of the posters age, how are we suppose to differentiate between a kid and just somebody who has no idea?

That's what this thread is all about. If you had read the OP, then you would have seen CK proposing a tag to set younger members apart from the older ones, so that it doesn't happen again

I was referring to a situation where the younger member is simply expressing their opinion or showing support for their team. The Manaia thread is obviously not one of these situations

I've seen a few members get stuck into each other only to have their posts deleted - you really need to develop a thick skin on here sometimes (me included).
Back to the topic - it seems most of the younger members prefer not to be identified as being so.
That's ok if it's their choice - I certainly don't want to discourage them from posting.
My original point was only to save them being torn to shreds by some of the 'more direct' members when they might otherwise be given a little more latitude.
We all read posts and have our level of agreement or disagreement ,and yes, sometimes you just shake your head and think WTF
Thinking back to when I was a Balmain mad teenager I would have loved to be involved in (some of) the discussions on here.
It's healthy to hear other people's opinions - even though you might disagree.

I'm a 15 year old girl who loves the Footy. I know I'm not as knowledgeable of the game as a lot of you other members but I surprise a lot of people, I outsmart a lot of the guys at school..
I agree with the above comments about having some sort of signal or something just saying a forumer is under 16, but then again, if they want to be rude and can dish it out, then they have to take it too.
