With Wade KcKinnon leaving at the end of this season, what are your opinions of him in the WT jersey?

I was personally quite excited when Tigers signed him mid season last year because it was the first decent signing we've had in years. He was a proven reliable quality fullback that has been sorely missed since Hodgson left. But Wade has hardly shown the form he had at the Warriors and has spent more time injured cause of his hamstring then on the field. Therefore he is a flop to me and I wont be sad in seeing him leave.

has shown glimpses of brilliance, however is past his best. injury hasn't helped, but prob the right time for a big UK contract.
not going to classify it as either a success or a flop, it was in between.

first decent signing in yrs? i guess you missed the signings of Ellis and Tuqiri :crazy

Geeze I know someone who must be itching to voice his theories on this topic lol….waiting, waiting.

I agree with MTD, if he was on big coin then we did our dough but as I suspect he wasnt than we probably came out even. He had more good games then poor but missed a lot of game time through injury.

Was just missing that yard of pace for most the games. Early on Was solid in D and good sniffing around the ruck then just went off the boil and couldn't clean up anything.

iv never had seen him play until this year and from what iv seen he is average at best, he played well in one game and the next one he was responsible for letting in 2 trys the next game, its probably a good thing he is leaving at the end of the year even if we just have a utility like mitch brown playing fullback next year

success at first but is now ready for ESL. If he gets a run from now until the end of the season then he needs to focus and concentrate to avoid any repeats of recent costly mistakes which affect not only his teammates but the rest of us.

What about Tuqiri and Ellis?
In considering where to rate McKinnon, I look at the comparative stats with Moltzen, who is rated by some as the better fullback:-
McKinnon: Played 12 Tries 4 Tackles 58 Hitups 172 Metres gained 1518
Moltzen: Played 18 Tries 5 Tackles 137 Hitups 108 Metres gained 962
While I agree these numbers do not tell the whole story, I find it hard to say he was a flop.

McKinnon's best years were 08/09 for the Warriors. I remember he was fantastic then. Since returning to the WT he has been pretty bad though.

I was excited to see McKinnon come on board and there were times where he met expectations. However injury didn't help and also it appeared he started making some poor choices in a few games over the past month or so. Not passing when he should have and on occasion running away from support when points were on. He had a couple of stinkers in a row which didn't help public opinion. I think the best way to sum him up is, when he was good he was terrific and when he was bad, he was terrible.

Of course he's a flop.
He's played less than half the games he's been on board for,at a level that the coach who recruited him doesnt believe is adequate to be selected in 1st grade ongoing.
To benchmark his stats against Moltzen, another flop who weve just pushed out the door,is meaningless.
Fact is,in what is a very key postion,we dont have an NRL level fullback in the club,& none sighted for next year either

Massive flop. He was a great player but for whatever reason he has lost it.

Put it this way Sheens has dropped him.

There are way more that deserving of the Flop label than McK.

Wade was a good stop gap and provided some stability at the back when he wasn't injured.

Some here have short memories.

If I had a sternum injury, i'd kinda hope to be dropped as well.

He hasnt been a success, but mainly due to injuries. He had a few good games earlier in the year. Im sitting on the fence because I couldnt say his a flop or a success. I think him moving on in 2012 is the correct decision though.
