^Make no mistake- it will happen.
The apologetic way the NRL have handled this thing suggests they were loath to penalise Parra-especially considering the good start they have had to 2016(never mind the insignificant fact that they assembled their squad illegally)!.
The NRL'S decision to hand down their punishment this week which allows Parra 2weeks to get their finances in order instead of 1 was carefully orchestrated to create as little damage to Parra's finals chances and as little damage to the NRL itself. The whole things stinks big time .If the NRL is a corrupt organization they cannot be surprised that it's clubs are corrupt and dodgy too.
The ol' "fish rots from the head" quote fits this whole sorry mess quite aptly.

Parra were supposed to be the darlings of the NRL this year as were Souths in 2014 .
lol@Parra !

The piss weak punishment from Greenburg and his latte sipping cronies is a joke IMO .
Assemble an illegal roster , get caught , and still get the chance to play in the semis …
What a farce !

It's a slap to the face, as they've been cheating for years now.

The 6 month investigation, all the press on Tuesday, deregistering 5 staff members (now on appeal in Supreme court) and the solution was simply for one player to retire.

Please….

More to the point, the solution was for one player who hasn't pulled on a boot all season to retire when his career was over anyway. Parramatta's run on side is unchanged and the NRL can save face.

x 2 what a joke !!!

lol Parra should be penalised for signing Watmough to so much money for such a long time at his age. A dumb decision then that they're now trying to wriggle out of it.

That was a bad decision wasn't it. You just can't do that.

They got off lightly. They should be ruled out of 2016 and start 2017 -10pts. What disincentive does the punishment provide, oh if you get caught we will penalise you but give you a hand to get under the cap.

It was all staged by the NRL to make themselves look like they were taking decisive action. The NRL wrote the script but kept it secret from the public. It is only now that the script for it's uselessness is now being read by the sucker public.

I would really like to know if WT were afforded the same luxury when Tuiaki, Dwyer and Fulton were forced to retire through injury? I'm betting we werent and had to pay those 3 out of our salary cap expenditure for the remaining years of their contract.
Different rules for different clubs. It always is.

New rules, were only enforced after the Mckinnon incident.

FTB is correct…Wests Tigers applied for cap relief when Fulton retired early from concussion and were knocked back...

McKinnon was injured Rd 3 2014..Fulton retired 10 July 2014...

It is a case by case basis and purely up to the NRL's discretion...

The medically retired insurance option/payout was ratified last offseason.

Much better option for players. I didnt realise it was fully in place until right now.

It used to be really hard on players, if a player want going to play again for the rest of their contract and had not played a game (in any grade that year) they would only get 20% of their remaining contract.
