Funny how he wouldn't talk to the press when he was winning but now bleats to them about everything wrong in the game that (supposedly) hurts his team's chances .
Snuck out the back door when Australia lost a series but now can't stop his gums flapping. :laughing:
He's obviously a good coach but it's interesting to see how he reacts when the shoe is on the other foot and , rather than remaining aloof from the media , runs to them to push his causes.

You can knock Bennett and coaches like him who have an abundance of talent as their disposal but there are a few things you need to remember

1/ You still need to mould the talent into a good player and then mould that mixture of talent into a good side
As we are seeing sometimes having all the talent doesn't help if they can't mould into a team

2/ The talent is not going to be wanting to be coached by a halfwit They want to be coached by someone who can turn them into a better player and a better person

3/ Mixing lots of talent together can in its self be a nightmare with many different egos to soothe and stroke

Bennett has proven over the years he is the best in the comp at doing all these things He has turned bad eggs around (Hodges) He has created cultures at clubs which are second to none in the NRL

He is prepared to make the tough calls which may make him the most hated person in Qld (Wally Lewis sacking)

I personally don't like Bennett but he is the best at what he does in the NRL
