Ok so it's not a real thing, but a few People in http://www.reddit.com/r/nrl were talking about a 'Championship Belt'. The basic premise is there's a fictional ' Championship Belt' that's held by the previous years winner (in our case the Sydney Roosters). This team holds the 'belt' until the next round, where that teams opponent for that week will 'challenge' for the belt. This is How this year has gone…

Round 1 - Rabbitohs def. Roosters = Rabbitohs
Round 2 - Manly def. Rabbitohs = Manly
Round 3 - Manly def. Eels = Manly
Round 4 - Manly def. Roosters = Manly
Round 5 - Tigers def. Manly = Tigers

In NZ NPC rugby there is a trophy that works exactly like this known as the Ranfurly Shield, it is a huge deal!
They only need to defend it at home, but can elect to defend on the road….but similar concept.

No way I'd bet on this thing, the possible permutations are impossible to predict. One upset and all the combinations change.
