Bound to be the case when one half of the JV is almost bankrupt.

For someone "factionally tied" to the same roots as you, it is kind of disheartening to repeatedly watch you stoop low and stab at the slighest opening…

X 2 … So childish.

How can a fact be childish.Numbers don't lie.I think the JV will be in much , much better position financially when and if Balmain gets their books balancing. Not being critical just telling how it is.

What's a fact, that Balmain's issues have led to Wests Tigers exhausting our cap for the year?

Talk about drawing a long freaking bow!

as has been mentioned, the 'we need more props' call probably came before we saw some great performances out of Ava and particularly, Sue… also before Blair moved to prop and started performing to somewhere near his potential

and I think Taupau will be a good signing for next season

but yeah maybe we are also broke

It's confirmed by Grant Mayer that we will not see another new player for this season (2013) unless the NRL gives us an injury exception (unlikely). We;ve blown our t2 cap from injuries.

I've always thought that when the club said it was looking at adding Props, that it was in relation to this season. I also think that it was said without really knowing how the inexperienced guys, Ava, Sue, Spence and even Buchanan would handle it in the months ahead. I think they've all surpassed expectations. Woods has been massive for us and Blair the past fortnight has stepped up too. We've gotten lucky in that sense. It remains to be seen how they handle the rest of this season. But with Galloway back shortly, you've got to believe we'll be right from that point on.

Was told first hand (so NOT a he said/she said rumour) that Blake Ayshford's Manager has been shopping him around to all 15 other NRL sides.

He was trying to get an immediate pre-30 June switch, however with no takers that isn't an option anymore. He is till open to offers from rival clubs for next year though.

Don't know the catalyst behind this, as he is still contracted for a few more years. However apparently it was Blake's decision to ask for a release, and the Tigers wont stand in his way if he can find another club.

With the sudden emergence of outside back talent this year, and with Richards coming next year, it is probably a good result for both parties. The only problem at this stage is there are no serious takers.

Yep, it's probably because of the fact that 7 does not go into 4 as a thread on here pointed out.

I'd say that was before the ridiculous injury toll hit us Ink, we're pretty much maxed out this year I would think. Probably why there was talk then, and no action now.

How does the injury toll affect our first grade cap?
I know it can with season ending injurys, but thats a positive when an exemption is sought for

Players in the 25, but low in the rankings often have bonus clauses if they play a cetain amount of games

Iam not sure where the money has come from but even with Balmain being broke we have maxed out on the cap. We are not in the player market for 2014 at present because what money we have is going towards trying to sign up a few of our kids long term. Although you hear whispers that a few players on fair size contracts are being shopped around and if a couple of them hit the road, than things may change. Really outside a back up no9 and plenty of people say our reserve grade rake could do the job,I dont see the need to enter the market place

You can pretty much be assure we are spending the cap, as are pretty much every single other club these days.

I don't see Balmain being broke as changing that really. The NRL club grant pretty much covers the salary cap at this point.

well the CEO said in the question and answer that there was players coming from the super leaque, and it would be soon.

Tigers looking to buy back-up

….....................''We need some front-rowers,'' he said. ''We've got some young blokes who are doing a good job for us in Ava [Seumanufagai] and Jack Buchanan. But eventually it's going to wear them down. We just need to bolster our [broader] squad up as well. We'll have to find something in the short term.''….............................................................

The Sydney Roosters on Friday announced Lama Tasi had been granted an immediate release from his contract.
>
The 23-year-old prop was contracted to the club until the end of 2013 but has been granted the release to enhance his prospects of playing regularly in the NRL for the rest of the season.
>
Roosters chief operating officer football Brian Canavan, said: "Lama has a lot to offer the NRL and the club has taken this decision together with Lama based on what we consider in his best interests as a professional NRL player.
>
"Lama has been a popular clubman and terrific contributor to the Roosters both on and off the field. He has made many friends at the Roosters and, on behalf of everyone at the club, we wish him the very best for the future."
>
Tasi has played 30 games in the NRL since joining the Roosters in 2011\. He made his first-grade debut against Gold Coast in round eight that year.

A few other players between now and then have moved around....yet weve done nothing for this year

with subject headers like that you'd make a good journo
