It's getting ridiculous.

Surely we can put the forum back online now.

Sure someone was offended about a comment posted on it, get over it so we can get on with it.

The person offended claims to love league and wants to see it flourish in the Macarthur, yet damages it by threatening to sue the Magpies and demands the forum be shut down.

Grrrrr! So frustrating!

>
IN an extraordinary move, two officials from East Campbelltown Junior Rugby League Club are facing life bans from Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League for alleged continuing behaviour problems.
>
A third former official is also facing sanctions which will effectively prevent him from being involved in any capacity other than as a spectator.
>
The future of secretary Tammy Draper, coaching co-ordinator Daniel Draper, both Easts life members, and former club president Andrew Ingram (pictured) will be decided at a general meeting on December 2 at Wests Leagues Club. Delegates will vote on whether to suspend Mr and Mrs Draper from rugby league for life and whether they and Mr Ingram should be prevented from holding a position within the league.
>
Mr Ingram is already serving a seven-year ban from the game after appearing before a disciplinary committee on November 11 for sending an allegedly offensive email to the junior league’s chief executive Julie Luke. He is appealing against the ban. League chairman Wayne Hardy-Smith said the decision of Wests clubs to take such extreme measures was “unheard of”. “It’s unfortunate clubs have reached a stage where they believe they have to take this action,” he said. “The clubs are all in the vein that the behaviour exhibited in the past must not be allowed to continue.”
>
Hardy-Smith said the motion to ban the East Campbelltown trio was moved and passed by the majority of clubs at a meeting last week. “It was a motion from the floor … the clubs had no confidence in the Easts delegates,” he said. Mr Draper said he and his wife were devastated after giving almost 30 years combined service to the code.
>
“I don’t always agree with how some things are run and I’m outspoken,” Mr Draper said.
>
He said he and his wife, who was nominated for a 2007 Women in League award and won a 2008 Centennial Medal for Volunteers in Rugby League, had never faced the judiciary previously.
>
Mr Ingram said he had written the email to Mrs Luke in frustration and regretted doing so.
>
NSW Rugby League coaching and development manager Martin Meredith said the matter was a local issue between the junior league and a club.

Was it one of them 3 that complained about something written on the Wests Magpies forum?

You rock pop, I dont know why the west officals and those in the know, aren't useing this forum to keep us updated..come on guys give some player movement, or if you got nothing, just make something up ,just to keep us on our toes..

As a moderator on that forum to be honest I don't really want it back. It was visited by 10 regulars mostly who offered any real opinion. The website should be used for club announcements in my opinion.

I'd prefer galahs was given some rights on this forum section and those wanting to discuss the Wests Magpies do so here. But thats upto the powers to be.

Nothing stopping anyone starting an unofficial forum anyway.

We (the mods) already contacted several Balmain and Wests "diehards" asking if they were interested in managing the Balmain and Wests sections of this site

…they all declined

i'd love to have them on board though. We all would

I guess the biggest issue is that I for one invested a lot of effort into the old forum and to see it all go by the way side would be disappointing. We used the forum as a quick and easy way to update the Magpies website as it didn't require any special training or server access. Perfect for the volunteers that helped me run the online hub and perfect for keeping fans up-to-date with what little info we could actually squeeze from the club.

The forum is also used as a growing historical database. People could look back at match results and team lists from recent years, plus the large amounts of Wests Archives content that has continually being added . As I said… a lot of work has gone into content gathering.

Finally, as much as it is painful to say, there is a Magpies element that still wants nothing to do with the Wests Tigers. A dedicated forum still allows them to support their club.

In regards to becoming a moderator on this excellent forum, the whole saga of the Wests Magpies Forum has worn me down. I don't have the energy to repeat the levels of dedication I put into the Wests Magpies Forum and can't promise to do the job here with enough enthusiasm or dedication.

So I'd rather just come on here as a humble member and give my 2 cents worth when I can.

I hope that explains my situation better.

Go Wests!

That is the plan for the Wests (Magpies) Supporter Forum. It basically was an un-official forum in practice anyway, now we will make it officially unofficial to further cover the club from any liability.

Well done galahs for your efforts in keeping the West Magpies Forum going all that time.I suppose most of the Forum members don't understand all the effort and work that goes into keeping it running.I for one didn't.It was great for us out of towners to read and uderstand what was happening with the Magpies and to read other peoples comments and to keep in touch with people with the same interest. So what will happen now. Will updates be placed on this Forum, hopefully yes.Again galahs thank, hopefully you haven't tired yourself out…...

If you need any help with the forum let me know :sunglasses:

Thanks for the offer.

When the forum comes back online, really the best help you can provide is by posting and Wests Magpies, NSW Cup or Wests Tigers news you find.
