WESTS TIGERS MUST HAND IN THEIR NRL 1ST GRADE LICENCE.

your not a supporter of this club if you suggest that it should fold,to mention it just say's this is not your sport,Sport.please vacate your seat 4 1 more worthy
Obviously a very disillusioned supporter where 2011 seems such a long time ago. Continuous on-field failure combined with poor off-field administration for 13 years can effect even the greatest optimist. I admire all of the forum supporters who bravely get on this site after 50 plus point losses and talk up the Tigers chances for next week's game. All supporters are hoping for improvements in the teams performances each year. But when people in an administration position cruelly negate that with political infighting, poor recruitment and leaking of player unrest etc. supporters suffer on the sidelines with no control in bringing about improvement/success. As negative as my original post has been in the eyes of forum members I am sure there are many who have felt like myself and you only have to reference former Balmain player Gary Leo's recent comments. I have qualified that I hope I am wrong, but this joint-venture has not been an easy ride (exception of 2005).

Magpies are perpetual losers ever since the game started. They brought that losing culture to the joint venture. The ghosts of Magpies past still haunt the club. Get that mascot off the sleeve it represents losing.
If you examine the two NRL Joint-ventures in the Wests Tigers and St George Illawarra then they are littered with power struggles and supporters not letting go of the past (even though both clubs have won a Premiership in 2005 & 2010). We are still seeing supporters turn up at games proudly wearing their old Wests and Balmain Jersey's. Matchball's comments above regarding the ghosts of the Magpies past is just a sample of supporters resentment in the joint-venture. Even the AFL never proceeded with any Joint-ventures and moved forward only with relocation e.g.Fitzroy Lions to Brisbane and South Melbourne Swans to Sydney. If 2025 does not bring any success to the Wests Tigers then it will be time for Balmain and Wests Magpies to go their separate ways and enter sides in the NSW Cup just like old clubs in Newtown Jets and North Sydney Bears (though they are correctly looking for relocation in Perth WA). IMO

If the 2 clubs were free of the shackles of joint venture they could then grow unfettered. I would remain a fan of both clubs.

....If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with...
Been a Tigers supporter for nearly 50 years, and win or lose I always will be. I'm just grateful that we still exist.
Sure we've had a shite run for years, and it's lots of different peoples fault, from management to players, but I know in my heart that we will get back up there.
Heaps of really passionate supporters of Magpies and Tigers here, and now we are West Tigers... Farq everyone else, we are a blended family and we are still kickin on..

Perenial Losers, yeah right.

But one thing for sure the Magpies are survivors..........so with them Balmain survive too.............in the JV.

Just as well.

OK sure no other club in history has won more spoons than Magpies. They feel comfortable with it because it’s a ruse. Everyone wants to be the underdog these days.
I remember getting a call from my sons school teacher complaining that my son wants to win when playing soccer. 😳🤔 She said some of the other kids don’t match it with him.
It’s just the way things are these days.

Referees didn't help. Have you seen the Graham O'Grady incident in the game before the grand final? Have you ever seen games in the 60's? Are you happy with the referring?

No Finals since 2011 and 3 x Wooden Spoons in 2022, 2023 & 2024, the Wests Tigers club need to hand in their NRL1st Grade Licence! Only 14 wins in three years with the final straw having over 60 points scored against them by the 2nd last team in the final 2024 battle for the spoon game.
Wests Tigers supporters please consider your thoughts before making any of the following responses:
1. I will be a supporter for life regardless of performances
2. We will be better next year in 2025
3. The club deserve to be in the NRL because the joint-venture teams Balmain & Wests are original clubs from 1908.
4. Plenty of other clubs have won Wooden Spoons.
4. The club has great Junior talent coming through the grades
5. Have you forgotten 2005?
Whilst I admire the club bringing in Richo to try and turn things around, the Wests Tigers need to just put a team in the NSW Cup (to appease current fans) and give their Licence back to the NRL where they can allocate a new licence to e.g.a QLD Cup side or another identified side from NZ, WA or Papua New Guinea etc. There are far too many sides from Sydney and surely Tigers supporters are so tired of seeing their club ridiculed in the media year after year as a result of officials making decisions bordering on lunacy.
Watching the WESTS TIGERS play in the NSW Cup would be more enjoyable where they may perform better and make finals (though not a given). If I were Wests Ashfield I would make a board decision for 2025 and refuse any further funding of the team in the NRL1st Grade.
Maybe private ownership is the only way out?
I am fully aware this post is full of negativity and supporters on this site are loaded with positive thinkers, but surely I am not the only fan who has finally put up the sign "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH "!
No one forces YOU to be the WT fan, unsubscribe, simple :sneaky:

Some people cannot understand what a sport is!
It is only recently that everyone must receive recognition and win a medal; otherwise, some people's feelings will get hurt.🤔

IBWT I can tell you did some deep thinking with that response! My comments were based purely on my observation of the past 13 years. Not sure that it is a great analogy you are drawing on in respect of everyone deserves a prize? I am pleased you have been a happy little vegemite since 2011 and maybe even happier to be a signed up financial WT Member for 2025. Hoping that RICHO has all the answers in respect of looking to the club's future.

I hope Richo can get you those 13 years back.
That’s about how long it took Richo to enjoy a GF victory at Souths.
Souths are a much more streamlined operation with lines of communication that makes sense. His time at Penrith was brief, and included a GF victory the following year. Could that be us? A GF win in 2025? Previous to Penrith was HullFC which was a similar result at Sharks.
I remember being over the moon in 2005, and the euphoria stayed regardless of everyone telling me it was a fluke, the planets lined up for the first time in a century. In hindsight they were right, it took another 5 years until we got back into the finals.
We raved about how good Benji was, so we sacked the guy who brought him to the club.
We now rave about the skill of Galvin, so we sack the guy (same guy) who signed him to the club.
This is what we’re up against.
We’re powerless to stop the club‘s self destruction.

Happiness is not a product. First thing. And second thing Bellamy turned us down.. its not like the door was shut. Richo? I dont get thst. Just was saying Melbourne supporters by and large are happier than Wests Tigets supporters generally. Tucker - can we please get some stats on this or Tiger One. Or a Juno Curve.

When my daughter was in Kindi, she game home the day before the athletics carnival and said her teacher told her that it is just for fun and it doesn't matter how you do. My wife and I both simultaneously told her but it is much more fun if you win. She has lived that everyday since.
