WESTS TIGERS SIGN TWO PROMISING BALMAIN JUNIORS
30/07/2010 1:08:17 PM
>
Wests Tigers have secured the services of two very promising juniors from the Balmain Tigers Junior Rugby League to long term contracts in Kyle Lovett and Curtis Sironen.
>
“Kyle played NSW U16s last year. He is currently playing at centre but will probably end up as a lock forward,’’ said Wests Tigers Recruitment Manager Warren McDonnell.
>
“Curtis is a five-eighth who is going very well. He is the son of Tigers legend Paul Sironen.
>
“They are both only 17 this year and they are signed to Wests Tigers for the next three years with an option for 2014.
>
“Both will play SG Ball for Balmain Tigers next year and when this competition finishes, we will look at moving them up into the Wests Tigers U20s squad should they be playing well.
>
“Kyle and Curtis are good young kids who trained very well in our Wests Tigers Cubs program this year. We are very happy about retaining them.”

More recruitment from within for 2011and beyond....

Great stuff big raps on young Sirro....

There's a small piece on Sirro Jnr in this week's Big League magazine. At just 17 years of age young Sirro stands at 193cm (6"4) and 90kg. He'll more than likely end up a ball playing lock and has his sights set on making the NSW under 18 side next season. He's eligible to play in the NYC for the next 3 years but he could well be a sight to behold when he fills out over the next 3-4 years.

6'4", 90kg's at 17! and has the skills of a 5/8
Now that sounds like a promising recruit!
& geeze it would be good to have the Sirro name back again!

& any word on Kyle Lovett? Other than what the article says has anyone seen him play etc?

Sirro Jnr is playing 5/8 at the moment but the club sees him as a back rower like his old man when he gets older and his body fills out. From what Hadley, Roach and Fulton were saying, Sirro Jnr tore Penrith up and seems to have an abundance of natural ability. I'm glad we've secured him fro 3 years, exciting times ahead.

They showed some footage of Siro Jnr on the footy show last night he looked pretty good, he can kick goals..

Young Curtis has dark hair and plays in the backs, according to Buttocks on the Footy Show last night his father could be the milkman, he can't explain the dark hair compared to his Nordic/Viking appearance!.

With Scott Longmuir when he was in Shamrocks 15's 2 years back, hes a big rangy fella and his brothers headed the same way, better than his older bro at the same age according to dad

Reminds me of that episode of Beau and Heighington on The Footy Show. "WENDALL"

Totally didn't even realise but Kyle Lovett works at the gym I go to.

Big unit. Definitely will end up as a lock.
