Wests Tigers Statement

Wests Tigers
Mon 15th June, 04:00PM

The Wests Tigers Board announced the resignation of CEO Grant Mayer, effective immediately.

Wests Tigers Chair Marina Go thanked Mayer for his stewardship of the Football Club for the last two years.

“Wests Tigers would like to thank Grant for his diligence and dedication to the Club", Go said.

"We look to take the next step in our evolution and a fresh approach to take us to the next level as a professional, world-class sporting organisation.

"Wests Tigers is looking forward to achieving the goals that are critical for a successful future for the Club, both on-field and off-field.”

Head of Football Phil Moss will be acting CEO until a replacement is found.

Professional search firm Crown & Marks has been engaged to find a replacement.

The Club will be making no further comment at this time.

Two CEOs in two days. The game is afoot. Panthers putting alot of pressure on the other Western Sydney Teams

I hope Potter is sitting back relaxing enjoying a fine cognac savoring the moment.

Did not see that coming, I wonder if he has been pushed or he heading back to Manly where he is well connected with the current owners.

I think Mayer did a lot of good things for our club and will be missed

Not Surprised… I figured he would be punted earlier considering the make up of the new board.

Search the World to find us a First Class Administrator. An inspirational leader who can attract world class sponsors!

I'd suggest this was on the cards the entire time;

- First, replace the board
- Second, Recruit Key areas in Football Department
- Replace CEO

There is no way you could have removed Mayer any earlier without landing in a bigger S#%t storm.

Pretty Much… Its just business and part of the cycle of change.

Hoping we get a great administrator with vision greater than the Sydney Congested Marketplace!

And who will work for a pittance.

If a CEO resigns on their own accord, they usually stay on until a replacement is found.

The fact it's effective immediately says to me he was punted.
