Wests Tigers medical staff have today confirmed that fullback James Tedesco will be sidelined with an ankle injury sustained in the 34-18 victory over Manly Warringah at Leichhardt Oval.

Tedesco will have further scans on his ankle tomorrow morning and could potentially be sidelined for an extended period.

While it is clear that Tedesco will miss this Saturday’s clash against the Cowboys, an exact return date will not be known until Club medical staff receive the results of tomorrow’s scans.

One of the Club’s standout performers in the opening five rounds, Tedesco left the field in the 49th minute of the Manly clash.

Wests Tigers will provide a further update on Tedesco’s ankle injury tomorrow.

If he went for scans today yet they are uncertain about the injury still, it could be a good sign. Extensive damage is generally diagnosed quite easily and quickly, then again more scans may mean the exact opposite…

This has a wide range of implications though, from his contract negotiations, though to our game to game structure.

Its not ideal, but I dont feel its the end of the world now that Simona is fit, and the changes wont be mid game... I dont know why, but I am very confident we can cover this with depth, something I have not felt in a long time.

So the 6 weeks the SMH reported was a load of crap?
Probably lifted from the post made on this forum stating it would be that long

I thought he went for an MRI last night…..surely they are not going from an MRI to an X-RAY.....or maybe it was the other way round?...MRI is the most conclusive scan you can do....the statement doesn't add up.

The kid cant take a trick! I hope it is not too serious, Teddy we NEED you.

Our ability to react to adversity will define our resolve. Proving to ourselves, hell everyone, we arent a one man band but a team. We can understandably fall apart mid game due to injury, not so if we have time to adjust before kick off to tweak structure and roster.

Teddy is more than handy, but shouldnt define us.

MRI is for soft tissue.
If they are doing an Xray they will be looking at the bones.

fair enough makes sense then….thanks

Well needling him up and sending him back out in the wet while we were a lap in front seems kind of insane.

are ligaments soft tissue (and come up on MRIs) ??

although doing an xray makes sense. If there's no bone damage then they can tell us it will be a few weeks, if there is then they'll tell us 8-10 weeks or whatever it is.

Almost as insane as young Sirro getting a needle to play nines.

Well it will be interesting now.

First people "in the know" were adamant Teddy's re-signing would be made before yesterday's LO game

Then it was, no campbelltown, as he is a Wests junior - well no need to wait
Announce it now!
Or are we now saying we will wait till he returns after 6weeks?
Lol
:bash

Who were these "people in the know". I recall a newspaper article. Dont recall anyone on here claiming they had a source that the deal would be announced before the game at LO. I recall some saying they thought it would happen but thats a big difference.

Just reported on Fox Sports Tedesco going in for surgery on the ankle tomorrow.

Best case scenario 4-6 weeks
Worst Case scenario 9 weeks

Not fair!

That was 9 months ago

Ankles are tricky things

As I said it was mentioned by people either guessing or referring to the newspaper article. I dont recall anyone saying they "knew" it would happen.
