Wests Tigers wish to advise that Peter Hardgrove has now taken on the role of Club Chairman for the 2011 season. Peter takes over from David Trodden, who has also been Chairman of the Balmain Tigers since 2003.
Peter was Chairman of the Club in its inaugural Premiership winning year of 2005 and this season will be his fourth season in the role.
A retired ex Police Officer, Peter is a Life Member of Wests Ashfield Leagues and has over two decades experience on their Board. He has also held numerous Directorships/Chairmanships of other various sporting organisations both licensed and non-licensed.
Peter expressed excitement about coming into the role.
“The Club is in an excellent position at the moment and it’s important that we keep the momentum going.” Hardgrove said.
“We have such an illustrious history when you look back at our two founding Clubs but it’s important for Wests Tigers to forge their own identity as we move forward. I’ll be working hard to help make this happen.”
The role of Chairman for Wests Tigers is shared between the Wests Group and the Balmain Tigers and is rotated on a yearly basis. Both groups nominate their representative yearly at their respective Annual General Meetings, usually held early in the year.
