Whose the man - Moses or Kitt ?

With two such great talents in our junior ranks in Billy Kitt and Mitchell Moses we have great potential for the future.

The selectors however, have a real problem.

Only one of these two guys will make the side at half.

Does the coach make Kitt half and Moses 5/8 ?

Does one of them miss out ?

Both of the young guys are great talents but as they mature can we keep both or will one be forced to go to another club ?.

I look forward to seeing what they can produce.

Bring it on !

you seem to be overlooking a kid by the name of Luke Brooks Gator…
He has been partnered with Moses for sometime in the Halves and that doesn't look like it will end anytime soon.
WT's have been nurturing him for quite some time.

I'm looking forward to seeing a few of the new boys actually and how they are best utilised… Payten does have some dramas on his hands though.

Firstly, does Malcahy keep his spot? He played a brilliant Finals Campaign this year and should be rewarded with first shot at the 6 jumper. So Payten has to choose from Malcahy; Moses; Brooks; Kitt; Marshall for the halves???

Does Marshall get a shot at the Fullback Position? Then you have the possibility that Teddy may come back via 20's so you would have to think he will get the Fullback spot ahead of Marshall and Mason Farrell. If this happens, does Mason Farrell have to wait his turn, or does he get a crack at a Centre Position?

Some interesting decisions to be made... I suppose Payten is lucky he knows who his Hooker will be. Cherrington looks like a great prospect and unless there is someone else from Keebra Park floating around, Cherrington should have this jumper for 2 years!

After re-reading it, I'm guessing he means at Ball level, Maybe Brooks has moved up to 20's?

I believe all three are in the NYC squad. Moses was from Balmain SG Ball, Kitt played for Wests Magpies. Some great talent in that group.

Payten wanted Moses in his NYC squad from the beginning of last season (before the SG Ball season started) but they held him back in the SG Ball and school footy so that he didn't get too overawed and could finish school a bit more settled. That alone should say that he'll get the first crack in NYC next year, probably with Brooks and Mulcahy finding a spot in the starting 13 somewhere.

Leapai and Luff are the other hookers in the squad and given Cherrington's dash from dummy half I wouldn't mind betting he will start games off the bench … The kid is dynamic whenever the opposition marker defense begins to look a tad weary.
As for the halves, Marshall isn't listed in the training squad so I'm not sure whether he's too old or not ???
I'd be starting the season with Brooks at 7 and Mulcahy at 6 with Moses also coming off the bench ... Billy Kitt may
Just have to wait for his opportunity.

... This all probably guarantees that the little Magpie will be the first player Payten picks.
What is indisputable however is this is a richly talented crop.

marshall is done in NYC now. too old and at last count did not have a contract offer from any clubs.

anyone got any video of this Kitt character? I haven't heard of him before.

One quality I liked in Payten was that he wasn't afraid to drop under performing players, so with us having another strong looking side on paper next year i envisage he will be adapting the same philosophy.

Without having seen these two gun halves from SB Ball play before but going off all the wraps being placed on them, i would put my money on Payten giving them first crack in the halves even though Mulchany(sp?) would have every right to feel hard done by.

Whilst on the 20's, this keyboard coach would have these potential first graders Lovett, Santi & Fotuaki playing in the NSW Cup next year as I see it benefiting their development better than playing another year in the 20's but I'm sure Potter/Payten have worked out the best route for these green horns and may even have them floating between the two grades to get them ready for the massive step up to FG.

Well Moses is a 5/8, Kitt a halfback, but I'd say Luke Brooks has him covered and he'll need to rely on form slumps or injury to get a crack in the halves next year. Payten has a ridiculous amount of talent in the halves at his disposal…

He's got the following to choose from:

Mulchay - 5/8
Moses - 5/8
Rudolph - 5/8
Brooks - Half
Kitt - Half

There may be others I'm not aware of.

Just read Fotuiaka is ineligible to play in the 20's next year so I was wrong and he will more than likely be starting in the NSW Cup unless he really impresses Potter during pre season and in the trials.

Isn't siro still available for the 20s too? Quite possible he might miss out on a first grade spot.

Yeah mate I believe he is. I think Payten may play him at lock/backrow at some point. He'll probably end up there eventually, be it first grade, reggies or 20's but it would probably help the transition, as I don't believe he's ever played there and his defense would improve dramatically with some good defense coaching.

I would actually like to see how he goes in the centres.

Yep, Sirro and Tedesco both still qualify for NYC next year.

Moses is an attacking freak who can create opportunities from nothing. His that "wow that was brilliant" player.
Kitt is a traditional half back with a good kicking game who specialises in organising and running the team around the park. He was doing this in Bathurst 1st grade when he was just 16.

Moses and Kitt both very different players and both will be playing NRL in a few years.

My understanding is Sirronen, Tedesco and Nofaluma will be playing in the NSW cup if not selected in NRL rather than the kids comp.

Yes but Luke Brooks is that kind of halfback too, and from my understanding he is better than Kitt right now? I remember Kitt having more hype when he was younger though.

That's fair enough too. The WT State Cup side should look in reasonable shape too.

What about Mania Rudolph? where do they play him?.

If there's no room in the halves and fullback is covered, what about the centres? I know he's been ear marked as a half and/or fullback but he is very versatile….... Just a thought......
