Why doesn't Harry buy the joint?

From a corporate perspective, what more benefits would he get by owning the Club outside of being the major sponsor? Why spend $30M buying an Asset, when he can write off $2M a year through Tax by sponsoring it?

Because if it runs at a loss…...

WT is a private company already owned by 3 parties…

Balmain FC
Magpies FC
Ashfield Leagues

If a wealthy backer came in and took a slice of ownership (like Russell crowe and souths) then that would help WT out financially.. But you don't really make money owning clubs.. You do it for passion with some legal and business rules around it. Unlikely for Harry to come and firstly wipe out balmain debt (unless he gets approval to re-build Rozelle) and then pump money into WT.

Ashfield is the wealthiest stakeholder for the WT and have the highest chance of 'owning it outright'.

Shame we don't have a wealthy Balmain leagues club or participating Campbeltown leagues club on board also :frowning:

A real shame. Is that why you were making jokes about them being broke elsewhere recently. You are so false in regards to how you talk about Balmain on here its not even funny.

I want the WT to be owned by Wests and Balmain who created the club as a new club with links to the old.
Why should they sell and loose influence and identity?

A private owner for a JV created for 2 foundation clubs is a no no.

He will probable buy Balmain out eventually ..hopefully with the business people being brought in by the NRL the Tigers could become a viable proposition and wealthy people do like a play interest, franchises in the US have shown this.

You seem to be the only one 'entertained' by it once again. Derailing the subject matter and nit picking the issues. You are an original Magpie boy from south west who now loves to slander genuine WT fans who are magpie orientated.

Joking recently? I thought you were banned from the Magpies group? Blocked by dozenss or faking it with an alias? U goose.

I would agree to keeping it all in house as well. But the facts are they just don't see eye to eye. Almost to he point of bringing the club to its knees. Rather than waiting for one to fall, had they only been more helpful and kinder to the other, who knows it may have worked for a few more years. But there were too many on both sides who were only worried about their own patch of terra-firma. I am much more confident in this board albeit change is ineviteable.

This is why I laugh when people are quick to jump at the throat of the Balmain side of the JV for being broke.
Harry has been pumping funds from a well known and reputable business for years.

Back to the topic, this post is ignorant. You don't make money from footy clubs.
He does not have the personal profile to leak cash without expectation of some reward.
Even though he pumps money now through his love of the Tigers, he does get brand recognition on TV etc so some benefit returns to him.

If, on the other hand, they gave him free reign to knock down and redevelop concord or leichhardt and make it Meriton stadium with apartments all around it (ala the Sharks) then I'm sure he would be a lot more interested in having a crack at the club.

With his business interests i dont think losing money is harrys problem i think his main concern are some of the people associated with the club namely Benny Elias and the filth he seem's to attract, fellow's like Eddie Obeidh.

If he wanted to he would've done it by now.

The only thing I can see HT doing of any use would be to help the club raise funds for a 21st Century training facillity.

Because the building industry is full of squeaky clean characters

Tell Harry that we will use some of his funds to buy Slater. Then do the same thing next year for Israel Folau.
Would love him to be the Abramovich of the Tigers.

From what I have heard about Harry from previous employees, the only thing to like about him is the fact he supports the Tigers!
