Why we will win

It seems like nobody in the press is giving us any chance. I am confident we will win this game. Why?

1\. Superior team. In all seriousness, we are better across the board. If you had a choice of any of the Raiders players to play for the Tigers, you would probably only include Dugan, Shillington and Leyroyd-Lars (with only one of the big boppers starting)

2\. We were more consistent over the year and beat the Raiders twice.

3\. Even barring injuries and fatigue, they are professional footballers and will get over it.

4\. We have a better, more experienced coach.

5\. Robbie Farah.

6\. Raiders are young, inexperienced and are due for a loss. No team won 6 in a row all year. 7 is pushing it. They will make mistakes if they get behind on the scoreboard.

Tigers by 10.

7\. Forget mental fatigue. The Tigers are furious about the loss on Saturday night and will have a massive fire in the belly to ensure they don't bow out in straight sets.

Agree with all the above plus I have been hearing things from the Raiders about their hoodoo over St George - I think in their minds they have already won the game and are looking forward to the following week.

My biggest concern is about the men in pink. I cant remember the last time we got a fair go under Archer, and well, though I dont condone what happened at Cambelltown, you have to be doing something wrong when a fan runs on and tackles the ref - enough said about Maxwell.

I would also take Croker, he would start in the Centres and can kick goals! And I would also probably try to find a spot somewhere for Campese.

This is exactly the reason I have picked them to win by 34 points. :sign:

I agree, they seem to already have their eye on next week. they also have the expectations of an entire city behind them.

I guess we're really going to find out how "mature" this Raiders side is. Could be a bonus if we put them under early pressure and make them panic with our 'up in your face' defence.

3 days away boys…

In terms of the Raiders looking towards St George rather than focusing on this week, I think it's a little talked up a bit too much.
98% of it is coming from the fans but they wont be the ones lining up on the park on friday night, surely the coaching staff only have to tell them once that any of those thoughts can be left at the gates.
They wont be silly enough to have that mindset but I do think that the fans/media have made it so much of an issue, that some of the more inexperienced players would have at least considered the prospect of this game being an easy task.
One things for sure, they will be rocked come friday

totally agree with that…. 100%

If we can dominate possession like in the roosters game Canberras big forwards will tire.
Plus they don't have a good second half record this year, for the same reason.

i wouldnt trade ayshford or lawrence for croker, or campo for benji, though i wouldnt mind daniel vidot for beau ryan.

Our forwards will be the key early, because they went so well early last week, Lui, Benji and Farah were able to work their stuff putting the chooks under enormous pressure. The raiders pack is a bit different to the chooks however WTs have worked them out twice before this season so I'm confident they can do the same again on Friday. Like last week we have the ability to win this game but have to be determined to put the final nail in the raiders coffin and finish them off not let them back into the game (fall on loose balls and avoid intercepts) at all costs.

Wests will win because they will outsmart Canberra. You know it's true.

I am not trying to have a go but you are kidding if you think only 3 or so of there guys would make our side. There forwards absolutely smashed our forwards last time at Leichardt. They made that many metres while we didnt really have a heap in us. Dugan , Croker, Monaghan and Campese are all great players, whod easily be in our side.

TLL, Shillington are close to two of the best forwards going around. There support party of Logan, Picker, Tilse also are very very strong runners of the ball.
