Will this be the push David Fifita needs?

David and his brother Andrew will both be debuting for Tonga on Sunday.
Im hoping that David has a big game pushing his chances for the squad next year.
Otherwise im sure he will get swooped up by another.

Did you answer your own question or are you asking?

Why does he need a push?

What will happen if other clubs swoop now that he has attained International honours?

It not really International honours.

I could play for Mongolian National side tonight and that dosnt really mean anything does it.

Dave should be wrapped - we here at the WTF are really hoping that he cracks the big time.

Firstly thanks for the scoop (48 hours late)!

Secondly - what is your point???

David is simply not as good a player as Andrew at this stage. I fail to see how a game for Tonga against the very ordinary Samoan team (see the result v NZ) is going to propel him into our top 25 or 17!

A quality off-season is the best way to get an early run in the trials!

This selection should be good for both lads development - but as for the"push David needs" - I have no frigging idea what that even means!!

Dunno about a 'push' or some such thing….but it should boost and do his confidence no harm at all.

Congrats to both bro's

My young blokes coach will be on the other side coaching/training capacity

BTW Tame Tupou was initially selected for samoa but had to withdraw with injury

Im more concerned about Andrew fullfilling his potential with Wests Tigers…...........ill worry about David later

my point is that a run with a team that actually has some credentials could push him to reach his potential

Maybe, he needs to really needs to look at his discipline and look to improve his training, keep his diet strict and learn as much as he can from the more experienced forwards at the Tigers. Setting a good example at training and doing all the little things right is what will help his chances of playing FG next season. He knows he's not the first, second or third choice prop at the Tigers so the challenge is there for him to improve his game so he does get to that standard.

Tame must be half-Samoan as Tupou is a Tongan name (not having a go - for example Asotasi is half-Maori and half-Samoan)!

Andrew is starting - David has missed the 20 man game-day squad with ex-Tiger Sam Moa preferred off the bench!

Makes the topic a moot point!

It may have been Tonga, not quite sure tbh…the convo was brief
