I just can’t see a way out of it for the club. They’re just so backwards.

Yep. The depth just isn’t there and hasn’t been since forever. Just when we start to build a bit of promise and competition for spots, the vultures pick the eyes out of us.They’ve been brave most of the year. For a side that lacks class players, losing two of our best is just a bridge too far.

The only way maybe this can happen is if NRL split the licence next time it’s up for renewal between HBG & Brisbane Tigers if the BT financials are too good to ignore & the WT club continues to struggle. Team just becomes Tigers and still owns the Inner West to Macarthur regions plus East Brisbane. Just a thought, no political motive. As I said in another thread, if HBG aren’t serious about the NRL then no, I wouldn’t care. If the WT are going to be run on the smell of an oily rag, then sooner or later I can see me watching less and less of this team. It’s been a long, long slow and painful slog and to then see we are still 17th in a lot of performance areas gives me no hope for the future. To think we run with one recruitment officer compared to 4,5,6 or 7 of other clubs and think we will compete is treating supporters of the club with contempt. Get serious about the NRL or get out.
Look the Oklahoma City Thunder (formerly Seattle Supersonics) just won the NBA. Was a long time between NBA titles for their supporters (1979 as Seattle I think).I would rather they fold altogether than merge again. There is no point to having this club in the NRL except for comic relief.
Many many seasons at the bottom as well .Look the Oklahoma City Thunder (formerly Seattle Supersonics) just won the NBA. Was a long time between NBA titles for their supporters (1979 as Seattle I think).
