Moses is defo the future captain.

I'd put money on the club including this carrot in his retention negs… He's a natural

What about woods? If we offer Moses the captaincy what do we offer woods?

Nothing but an upgraded contract
I doubt it would bother him having the © go to a mate

He seams like a block who wouldn't mind. Especially if he get soo captaincy - who knows maybe Moses won't want it and is happy with woods being the boss on paper. He will run the team on the park anyway.

Yep. One bloke to talk to the refs and one to run the team.

That video got me pumped! A few points:
Kev is an attacking weapon. If he can sort out his defensive reads and work on his bomb defusal, he could be a quality outside back.
I have a feeling Ava is in for a big year.
It would be nice to see Lawrence have a bit more variety in his hit ups… run different lines and use a bit more footwork before the line. This should open up more opportunities for offloads too.
It worries me seeing Rankin on the wing (it was a nice pass by Teddy though!)

Why would kevie suddenly learn how to tackle? He has been a witches hat all of his career at his age he is not going to improve, good in attack but a massive liability in defence.

He knows how to tackle, and quite often smashes an opposition player.

It is the defensive reads that he has trouble with (not convinced it is all his fault though), the coaches have been working on that with him during the off season.

You could see a new improved Kev in 2017.

I hope you are right Russell but next week he is 28 it is very late in his career for him to read defence, uptil now he is clueless. He has been with us for a number of years now and is good in attack but is useless when he has to mark up and tackle constantly leaving Nofo marking 2.There is a very good reason why teams attack our right hand side and he is the main culprit imo.

No, he was coming infield to support Moses who was always left isolated by the forwards leaving him to tackle someone twice his side. So Kev came in to support Moses, then it left Nofp stranded. So I wouldn't say it is entirely key's fault. At least the tries were being scored out wide rather than close to the goal-posts. All we need is someone who can give Moses support. I think ET would be the best solution.

Switch ET to the right.
Sue to Lock.

Woods can be VC, he's a good player and I like him but Moses oozes captain qualities.
He's a talker, you can see his passion on field - I would say he is a bit cheeky to from what I've seen, mouthing off at players and laughing in their faces but he will mature and be an absolute alpha captain.

Exciting to think of what kinda club legend, super star player he will turn into.

Also I'd love to see Nathan Brown come back and be the enforcer we need. (Someday)

Woods was only given the captaincy because there was really no one else who was a better alternative at the time. Good player, but not a captain. Doesn't have the fire in the belly. It seems a natural fit for Moses.

The captain needs a cool head to be able to talk to the refs and get the best out of them. You see how much Smith can get going his way. Woods is that guy.

You also need a calm head in pressure situations. I recall Tedesco admiring how much woodsy helped him settle into origin with his calm demeanour.

Moses doesn't need to be captain to be a leader and fire up the troops. Maybe co captain or a VC for him.

You guys want to switch about the only guy in our team that can consistently slow the ruck from the middle to an edge…good luck with that..

I wouldn't like a mouthy little upstart telling me what to do personally.

Whilst i think Woods is growing into the captaincy role, having a little yappy dog barking at the forwards may be what they need. Including Woods.

ET averaged 42 tackles per match in 2016\. He can play 80 minutes and also has a tackle efficiency of 94%

Wherever ET has had experience playing in the back row before. All we need is a back-rower to play next to Moses who can tackle.

Moving Sue into lock will also add more size and power to our ruck.

I don't see what can go wrong Geo

You are weakening one position to strengthen another that in a nutshell is what can do wrong.you end up with 2 problems instead of 1

Some players prefer to do their talking on the field , unless Sausao has said he is leaving there could be a number of reasons he mightn't be in the leadership group

Could be as simple as not wanting any media obligations this year.

The last thing Moses or this club needs is him being given captaincy. He needs to concentrate on his consistency and does not need the pressure.
