WT v Knights round 1 ‘25 predictions

Early but what are everyone’s thought abouts this game? Sell out crowd? Will we win? Or will our horrendous record at Campbelltown continue?

First of all, I’d be shocked if it wasn’t a sell out despite the time slot … I can’t remember being more hyped for a game

I don’t expect miracles 1st game but I’d be pretty disappointed if we didn’t come away with a win. We need the momentum to carry on over from one of the most successful off-seasons we’ve ever had.

This is not dis-crediting the knights as they’ve been a top 8 team for the past few years, but I predict a clunky hard fought win to the good guys.

Who can forget Gutho carried on like he needed to be air lifted to west mead. The make up for the #9 position rd 1 will be interesting

Gotta be Da Silva in the nine to open the season for mine. Whether or not he then has a regular spot on the bench is another matter, but Koroisau certainly needs to be playing less than 65 minutes for WT to get near his peak contribution, with 55 being about it nowadays before his defence starts to fall off, and somewhat rapidly.

Hopefully all of our other options are available and we get to see a fit Latu giving Tallyn a break against the Knights, to get a good evaluation of how both are progressing going into 25.

Maybe take some sedatives and settle down S2B. I know it’s out there but a bit of water to go under the bridge before then. Take it easy and don’t get too far ahead of yourself !
Or try this, rain all week and game night, crowd just over 5,000 and a 8-8 draw.
Doesn’t sound too exciting ! 🤣🤣🤣

Yes I’ll admit I had a spout of energy and felt extremely optimistic about our chances in that moment haha

As WT fans getting too far ahead of ourselves always leads to disappointment … a Ponga masterclass would not surprise

Star, OMG the one hit wonder ! I can’t believe he would make the side, although your indications are he is a possibility.
Not a fave of mine. Injury prone and not a great defender. Anyway, we’ll see.

Lets do a quick matchup:

Fullback: Bula vs Ponga = Newcastle
Wings: Staines + Skelton vs Marzhew/Schiller = Newcastle
Centers: Olam + Turuva vs Best + Gagai = Newcastle.
5/8: Galvin vs Gamble = Wests Tigers
half: Luai vs Noname = Wests Tigers.

Forwards: Fritzel, Elliot, etc vs May, Klemmer, Pole... = Wests Tigers.
Hooker: Api/Tallyn vs Bailey = Wests Tigers.

I suspect we will win our first game. It's down to Benji and Luai but if they can guide the team. they will win.
Hope Turuva plays on the wing because we are so much stronger with him there.
